Zombies almost always check inside. Some are often used as literal fortresses, and are sometimes so heavily barricaded that it is impossible to enter without Free Running. Tagging a police station earns 2 XP. They are listed as a Tactical Resource Point. Police Stations can be barricaded normally.

Barricading Policy

"Hudson PD is now barricaded Extremely Heavily at all times. One of the buildings adjacent will be VSB, allowing survivors with Free Running to get to Hudson." This policy is still being enforced.
