Day 1

I knew it had to happen. Managed to spend most of my time up til now in the labs, processing DNA samples. But we've lost too many techs out there recently, so they shoved a DNA extractor in my hand and told me to get to work. And, well, it's not like I have anything better to do.

Wandered around a little bit -- not too many zeds out there today, but I did manage to tag a few. Found some pistol clips and a couple of books. Haven't the foggiest how to shoot a gun, but I may as well hang onto the clips just in case. The books were rather more useful, some kind of survivalist crap but had some decent advice. The GPS will be more useful if I have to range out farther next time. Made it back to my "home" lab and crashed out.

Day 2

More scavenging, more sampling. Found a flak jacket, woo! It's apparently sized for an elephant, but I'll take what I can get. Also managed to snag a couple of FAKs and more ammo, still squirreling it all away. Holed up in a hospital for the night, could hear zeds messing with the barricades. Got some wounded survivors in during the night, but the zeds didn't actually manage to break in.

Day 3

Almost no zeds around, and the ones I did see had been tagged already. But I did scare up a pistol AND a shotgun - again, not that I have a chance in hell of actually hitting something with them, but they make me feel better all the same. I also dug up some syringes in a sister lab, so once I can get someone to show me how to use the bloody things I guess I'll hit the streets for some of the ol' one-two: sample-and-revive. Unfortunately, I've been seeing a lot of cortex damage in local specimens, so I'm going to have to watch my ass when I do it.

Day 4

Again with the zeds wandering by when I'm passed out! The generator in my building is out of gas, and I haven't been able to find more. I hope someone does soon. Today I ranged out a bit into Eastonwood, and it was total zed city. I tagged a few and ran like hell. When I do start reviving the deaders, I think I'll stick to designated Revive Points. Tagging is quick, but I don't want some damned zombie taking a bite out of me while I'm trying to pump a little life back into another one...

Day 5

I swear that Eastonwood is zombie paradise or something. Zeds everywhere, and most of them rotters. Unfortunately, it also appears that I'm duplicating effort tagging most of the ones near the Shuttlebank border -- I'm going to have to start ranging out further. I'm acquiring quite the impressive collection of firepower, stashing it away for a day when I actually get someone to show me how to use the things. Still haven't managed to find any fuel for the generator, but I did find a radio. I do wish that these idiots would maintain barricading standards -- it's frustrating to find yourself barricaded out of your own damned lab.

Days 6-7

Lots of fruitful zombie-tagging, and I finally figured out how to revive the buggers, too. Went over to the Revive Point at Drake Walk, 6 zeds all standing there looking like slightly rotten refugees. I shot a couple up and hightailed it back to the lab. Still no damned power, I guess that tomorrow I'll spend a little time looking for some gas, and maybe revive another zed. At least it feels like a good deed...

Days 8-9

Went out to do a little revivification, came back to find that damned near every building in the area had been so heavily barricaded that I could not get in at all. Where's the goddamned Militia when you need them? I was forced to take cover in a police station overnight -- never a good idea. I woke up to find zeds attacking and dragging people out into the street to be killed. I ran, tried to get back to my home lab -- no dice, those bastards have it locked up tight. I pushed into Gatcombeton, people say it's a little safer there, but still most buildings were so barricaded that I could not find a way in. This time I'm holed up in an old abandoned church with a few other people, it's not the safest place in the world, but all I need to do is rest up enough to scout out the local NT buildings and see if I can find a new bolt-hole in one of them.
