As such, Malls are frequently used as safehouses and fortresses by survivors. Zombies often check inside (when they can get in), and organized zombie groups sometimes lay siege to them. They are listed as a Tactical Resource Point. Characters with the Shopping skill can loot specific stores. Those without will find these items at random: Bookstore: books, poetry books. Drugstore: first aid kits. Gun Store: pistols, pistol clips, shotguns, shotgun shells. Hardware Store: crowbars, fire axes, flare guns, spray cans, knives, portable generators, toolboxes. Liquor Store: beer, wine. Sporting Goods: baseball bats, Binoculars, cricket bats, fencing foils, golf clubs, hockey sticks, pool cues, ski poles, tennis rackets. Tech Store: GPS units, mobile phones, radios, radio transmitters. Malls are large buildings, and are barricaded as such.

History

Constructed in 1977 Mitchem Mall was not the success it was meant to be. It simultaneously caused the relocation of a number of successful shops that had resided on the site, and set unit rentals too high so no one could replace them. Over the years the purpose built stores were subdivided into smaller units providing a different feel from most other Malls in Malton. Mitchem was much more like an indoor marketplace, where large chain stores rubbed shoulders with tiny record stores and antiques shops.

Inside: You are inside Mitchem Mall. Trails of looted debris litter the floors and escalators.

Barricade Policy

This building should remain at Extremely Heavily Barricaded. The two buildings surrounding it, the Corless Bank and Club Izzard, are designated entry points and should be barricaded to VSB++ at most.

A note: If you tear down the barricades to VSB++ to get in, either barricade it back up or tell someone inside the mall, Your cooperation is appreciated.

February 4th, 2009 Mitchem Mall lies in ruins. The RRF Gore Corps have performed a pre-Mall Tour assault, entering Mitchem as survivors and Pking their way through to open the doors for all and sundry. All four corners are now ruined and are currently occupied with only 4 or 5 rotters per corner. There is still a heavy RRF presence in the area and pro-survivors in the area are advised to confirm group affiliations before healing and resting in nearby buildings. The Mall Tour has turned away from Tollyton towards Stanbury Village so there is still time for the locals to retake control.-- RedeyeSy 19:38, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
