St. Swithun's Church (Heytown)

History

The church were named after St. Swithun, one of the early bishops of Winchester. Upon his death, he was buried outdoors, rather than in his cathedral, apparently on his own request. He had announced that he wanted the "sweet rain of heaven" to fall upon his grave. Roughly a century after his death, his body was moved into a new, indoor, shrine. The ceremony required for this was delayed because of 40 days of constant rain, a sign of his displeasure at being moved. One of his patronages is the weather.

Barricade Policy

This building, as befitting a safe haven for the living (and the Heytown Barricade Policy), should be kept at VSB++ at all times.

Current Status

Historically part of the greater Craske Triangle area.
