I'm not precisely sure how this would work in-game, but I think a suitcase could be a "one time only" find that, once found, permanently alters your character to allow the carrying of 1 extra of each article of clothing (1 coat, 1 shirt, 1 pair of shoes, etc). The suitcase itself wouldn't really be an item, would not have encumbrance, and would not appear in your inventory. Finding it would actually be an event triggered randomly by searching in an appropriate building. It would then be represented by a drop-down list of its contents, allowing you to switch your current clothes with those in the suitcase at any time. Of course, all this is a lot of complexity for something that would have little actual impact on gameplay.
