Basic Info:

  • A monument is a city block containing a statue or similar piece of public art, without a building in it. It is functionally equivalent to a street, except that players with the Tagging skill can gain 2 XP for writing graffiti on a monument.
  • This is, game-play wise, an empty block, and cannot be barricaded.
  • After the July 3, 2009 update, some monuments became tall and can be seen from a distance with binoculars

Monument

Description

Humans and zombies alike will see the following (permanent) description when standing in front of the monument:

"You are at the Heneage Monument, a marble pyramid on top of a tall pillar."

A local professor at the tip of the monument.

A chalk design of great antiquity, cut into the steep, grassy hillside in the centre of Grigg Heights.

History

The Heneage Monument is so ancient its origins are no longer known. However, local legend has it that it marks the place where Grigg the Giant fell dead: more specifically, it's thought to be the exact point crushed by his ruptured hernia. Waggish local historians have impishly suggested that it marks the point where his crotch lay, a theory no doubt prompted by the somewhat eyebrow-raising shape of the monument.
