Description

The Hyson Museum, an imposing metal-and-glass building surrounded by burnt-out cars, is a European Art Museum.

History

The museum was founded in 1933 by John Hyson, youngest son of the wealthy Hyson family and an avid art collector. Here he gathered his family's vast art collections, which was spread through their many estates. It did not fare very well during its early years, as the population of Owsleybank had little interest in art.

When John Hyson died during World War 2, in 1945, the museum was inherited by his nephew James Hyson. Under James' rule the museum became somewhat of a success, as the man was far better at advertisement than his uncle.

When the Malton Incident finally hit in 2005, the museum had since long been out of the Hyson family. Instead, it was run by the local council. Which, of course, was nowhere to be found when the zombie apocalypse hit. Since then the Hyson Museum has been visited by few, and the art collection is still fairly intact.
