Thank you for taking the time to help me test and/or offer suggestions to make this a better service. I will give Kudos to any who assist (as well as any who helped on the Technical Help page)

Known Issues

1. Large Images break the message table
2. If "http://" is not included in URL, but URL=yes then message is not formatted correctly
3. If Reviewer is included but Peer Reviewed=no then output for peer reviewed is still "yes"

Suggestions/Feedback

You can check how close you are to breaking the page by viewing the source code for the page (I am NOT talking about viewing the code for the page by editing it, but rather by using your browser to view the actual HTML source code), searching for the word "bytes", and then checking the values. If any of the three exceed the maximum specified, it breaks. It also seems to break sometimes if a combination of the three exceeds it, but I'm not sure what those conditions are exactly, since it's not something we fool around with too often. Anyway, it looks like you can probably hold a couple dozen messages safely before running into issues, depending mostly on what the message is and how big the user's signature is. You might have to implement an archiving system of some sort in order to get it to work. —Aichon— 04:50, 21 September 2010 (BST)

Alright. currently it's at

• Pre-expand include size: 44366 bytes
• Post-expand include size: 9339 bytes
• Template argument size: 7294 bytes
• Maximum: 307200 bytes

Have the custom user id and the user signature code show up in the wiki markup code to copy

I would change it so that the generated user id, and the user signature code -~~~~ are already in the markup code that they should paste. See the example below:

So don't use it. ;) If you check the source code again, you can see which CSS classes the pre tag uses to make it look that way. Just use a div of your own, apply those CSS classes and styles, and you should have something that looks identical but doesn't function as a pre. You'll need to add nowiki tags all over to make it work, but I've done it in the past (sorry, no examples, since they were sandbox pages that have long since been overwritten), so it is doable without too much effort. —Aichon— 06:27, 21 September 2010 (BST)

Well the source did not actually give me the CSS styles and whatnot (unless I was just looking in the wrong place for it). So I built something similar as a table. Not sure what font and clors were used so it looks kind of...off. Needs tweaking. But it works! Thanks for the great idea. --~ 16:56, 21 September 2010 (BST)

Yeah I thought I had seen a template that formatted text to look like that. I just swiped the style from the template, though. There are enought templates on this page as is. Looks like it's nearing 1/3 of maxium with only about 10 messages. Might have to do some trimming.--~ 21:36, 21 September 2010 (BST)

I'd ditch signatures and the peer reviewed stuff, personally. I'd probably also suggest only allowing image links, rather than images themselves, since I think images included via template count towards those totals. Is there a way to disallow them? I'd probably do it if there was. I'd be less willing to ditch the peer reviewed stuff I think. I could see ditching sigs to save on page size...dunno kind of on the fence there. I wonder if changing up {{GabbaGabbaID}} which uses lots of templates would make a huge difference.--~ 22:27, 21 September 2010 (BST)

You could just put it in the rules for the page. Most people wouldn't think to use them anyway, I should think, since when people think messages, they tend to think links and text, not images. At least, that's my take on it. —Aichon— 23:00, 21 September 2010 (BST)
