Sparo was once the esteemed student and vicar of Anton Steinbrecher, the famous peacemaker, theologian, and head minister at St. Gall's Church--before things when all wrong. The son of a Polish immigrant and a lost-upon-arrival Russian mail-order bride, Ilia had a bit of a strange upbringing. From an early age, he was very intelligent and raised with fear and training in the LORD. He'd made up his mind to be a priest. Beginning ministerial training early at age 14, Ilia studyed independantly with Steinbrecher (who was a family friend), but dropped those studies after he was accepted into the esteemed Malton Medical College at age 16. Although he studied medicine, he studied philosophy and ethics independantly; he eventually graduated at age 21 with twin degrees in Medicine and Bio-Ethics. Ilia Sparovich recieved a law degree two years later, but quit practice after his parents died in a house fire. Not long after, his brother was confined to a mental institution, starting Ilia on a long and serious personal crisis. He returned to ministerial school, where his friend and teacher, Steinbrecher, was impressed with his spiritual growth and decided to take him (now 23) as a vicar. For a brief time under Steinbrecher, Ilia's anguish was relieved. Steinbrecher gave Ilia the responsibility of the youth ministry in Pennville, which brought joy to the young man. Yet, Anton Steinbrecher fell ill one Sunday, forcing his protege and vicar, Ilia Sparovich, to take over all the duties of head minister for a time. At that time, the outbreaks had just begun, but few knew anything about them. Not long after, Ilia became a legend of Pennville. Current Status Objective(s): Watch over the people of Pennville as spiritual and physical guardian. Location(s): Patrolling the rooftops and underground tunnels in and around St. Gall's Church (Pennville). Long-term Goal(s): Make Pennville a legendary suburb as being free zombies and crimes. Restore St. Gall's Church. OTHER Rumors: Ilia is considered a jack of all trades. He's held many unrelated jobs: a journalist, lawyer, EMT, research assistant, appliance repairman, various factory or construction positions, and semi-professional musician. Ilia loves to grab a pint at The Colsworthy Arms. Maybe you'll see him there! Ilia spent an extended time as a wandering blood-thirsty zombie, but managed to regain his composure before his brain became to permanently rotten. Since then, he's learned to have compassion even on the repentant zombie. He believes that zombies and humans both need forgiveness, but there are many who do not believe and do not seek forgiveness. Ilia hates the bountyhunter who seeks easy, small bounties. Bountyhunters ought to forgive minor crimes and seek those who are truly evil--those who are to be killed upon sight. Some say he wears the welding goggles for a make-shift flamethrower he carries with him.
