You obviously have several radios active, I was wondering what frequency they use? I have a couple as well and it seems a bit more productive if we update status reports from different areas :) -- Johnny Twotoes 19:04, 6 August 2012 (BST)

:I listen to the External Military Reports on 25.96 MHz, which covers the entire city (and provides 90% of the updates I do). I also follow the Soldiers of Crossman channel (26.43 MHz) as they're active in my area, Darvall Heights/Gatcombeton etc. I don't listen in on any of the District Frequencies, 26.01 to 26.20, although I'm not sure how actively they're used, or the frequencies of any other groups. Hope that helps! 00:32, 7 August 2012 (BST)

Thanks

Thanks for all your work so far on the timeline. Looking forward to your contributions to the individual timelines as well. That's where the real meat of the project will be. ~Vsig.png 05:10, 20 May 2012 (UTC)

Hey I like the "This Month" thing you're doing. If you want to try to work it into Project Timeline somehow, thad'd be cool. ~Vsig.png 22:31, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
Thanks! All the information on there is already on Project Timeline (or comes from the pre-2005 backstory). I was thinking more along the lines of how many wikis have a "this day/week/etc. in (name of wiki topic)" on the front page - although I'm not quite good enough at wikicode yet to get something like that up and running. Bob Moncrief 00:40, 24 June 2012 (BST)
Try this code if you want something that will display events only for the current month. We use featured articles on the main page but that's not to say we couldn't also do a "This Month in UD". You'd probably want to put some discussion up at Template talk:Community Portal or even Talk:Main Page. And like I said, I'd be happy to have it on Project Timeline. ~Vsig.png 16:56, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
Thanks so much! I'll definitely do that. Bob Moncrief 18:49, 24 June 2012 (BST)
No problem. I went ahead and moved it over to Template:UDThisMonth so I could play around with it. Gave you credit for proof of concept on the template talk page. ~Vsig.png 21:16, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
Awesome! I'll make sure to keep updating there as I go. Bob Moncrief 21:18, 24 June 2012 (BST)

Building updates

Hey, I've noticed you've been doing a lot of awesome work with updating building statuses. One quibble though: you can and should take full credit for your updates. ;)

Basically, don't worry about the "//" stuff, and instead just replace whatever text and signature is there with your own. Radio updates are perfectly valid and useful, and yours are almost always much more relevant than the things they're replacing. Putting two messages up there can sometimes lead to contradictory information (e.g. the previous update said it was safe, while yours says it's ruined), so it's better to just go with whatever is most recent.

Also, I've noticed you in-game around Darvall a few times in the last few months. You even revived me once or twice. Thanks! Aichon 15:07, 28 June 2012 (BST)

Hey thanks! Glad someone is noticing the updates. The main reason I've been doing the "//" is to clarify/explain what's going on. For example, if someone had a building as ruined a week ago, and the EMRP says it's lit but with zombies in the area, I'll leave the message before the "//" to explain why I'm putting it as "rebuilding" rather than "safe". I pretty much never leave a prior message if it's old or doesn't add any relevant information. But I'll feel free to cut back.
And I'm glad to help out however I can in keeping Darvall safe & secure! Bob Moncrief 15:11, 28 June 2012 (BST)
I gotcha. I wouldn't worry too much about it though. We have the history of each page on the wiki if there are any questions about that type of stuff, and unless you do something really REALLY contentious, no one is going to challenge an update (especially if you're just radio stuff, since that's verifiable by anyone). Even so, good thinking. And if you see Orison Flynt around, feel free to say hi to me. :P Aichon 15:41, 28 June 2012 (BST)

UDThisMonth

Hey, Bob. Got any ideas on how to spruce up UDThisMonth? When transcluded, it does its job, but on its own, looks a little mundane. How would you feel about adding a little preamble to the top of the template? It won't be included when transcluded anywhere. Maybe add a couple of small links at the bottom to Project Timeline and Malton Incident. Thoughts? ~Vsig.png 00:08, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

I'll hop right on that! I think I know how to use <noinclude>... Bob Moncrief 00:53, 29 June 2012 (BST)

About the timeline, Active characters below 10.000 this month? Odd, this is what the stats page says: Active Characters : 10268 Check your facts please -.- -- Johnny Twotoes 20:57, 28 July 2012 (BST)

Stats are updated every hour and usually you'll see a sudden drop at midnight and then a gradual climb throughout the day. I believe that's because midnight is when idled characters are made idle. According to the stats log, the first time that we dropped below 10000 active was midnight on July 26th. ~Vsig.png 21:54, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
I was alerted by this message, then cross-checked with the stats log. Bob Moncrief EBDW! 00:42, 29 July 2012 (BST)

FA wishlist

Hey, Bob know you plan on putting up a bunch of articles on FA soon. I went over a few of the articles to make sure they fit the criteria. Made some changes to Guides:Managing Encumbrance and Play Style. I checked Zamgrh and didn't see any needed changes. I started in on Hiding in Plain Sight but that one still needs work. I'll list more here as I check them. Oh, and I'd like for you to add Gnome's game to FA voting when you do the deed. ~Vsig.png 01:12, 29 July 2012 (UTC)

Thanks so much! Gnome's game slipped my mind since I didn't think to include anything in userspace. Is there an official name to it, and should the featured page be just User:A Helpful Little Gnome? Bob Moncrief EBDW! 01:25, 29 July 2012 (BST)
I believe he calls it "World of Gnome" or at least I've heard it refered to as such. User:A Helpful Little Gnome/Chapters might be a good starting point, but his Userpage proper or the first page of the game would probably also work. Maybe Gnome should weigh in. Maybe he doesn't even want his game featured, though I suspect he probably won't mind. ~Vsig.png 02:32, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
