Zerging?

Hello, I'm firite of the 92nd Response Unit, and i was not very happy about your comment on the littlehales building page that we were zergers. We are a group of classmates of 14 people who come together during our breaks and after to maintain the kirby complex, as we know it. You may think we zerge, but i assure you, we play by game rules. We find it ridiculous that you accuse us as a zerging person, just because you cannot bring the place down. You may think we are zerging, but we either communicate via msn as a group char to dispatch orders or by using the school computer lab when we meet up. We are named 92nd Response Unit because our high school class is 092S, and it was done to reflect that.

Oh, and i'm making hoodies for all my mates in the 92nd RU. need me to mail you one? Awaiting your reply. --User:Firite 15:53, 16 July 2009 (GMT+8)

Hi, Establish here.

To add on to what Firite mentioned, I wish to have you know that zombie zergs were found in the area too [Check UD id=1572030 and id=1572033, for instance. Both were found in Randallbank]. What makes me infuriated is the fact that you so easily proclaim all our efforts as that of a "harman zerger", making our victory (if you could call it that - I would!) in the disputed area seem illegitimate. In addition, that comment was completely unsupported by any evidence whatsoever.

Quoted from you (Hashk), from the Littlehales Building News section: "Being held barricaded and powered by a harman zerger who poses as a group, the "92nd Response Unit." Probably safe for survivors, although not very classy."

Now, let's discuss this statement. You readily state that the barricading and powering was done by the 92nd Response Unit (which I will mention as 92RU from here on). How could you have gotten this knowledge without a survivor inside the building?

1. You had a friend inside the building as a survivor. 2. You had an alt inside the building. 3. You assumed.

Option 1 proves that the coordination we have achieved thus far is not impossible, especially since we have the advantage of being able to meet in real life on a very regular basis. Giving you the benefit of doubt (as you should have, too) I'll reject Option 2. My guess is that Option 3 is the most probable scenario, which disappoints me.

The 92RU did not power a single building in the area, reason being that we felt it would attract more zombies. In fact, we had to destroy some existing generators in non-TRPs to achieve this! As for the "barricading" section, it's pretty obvious that we barricaded the area quite alot - it's the first step to keeping an area safe, no? However, stating that the barricading was done by ONLY the 92RU is essentially discrediting the other survivors in the area of their hard work! It's almost a certainty that other survivors barricaded too, and given the number of survivors in the area, probably much more than the 92RU could have did by itself.

Lastly, I honestly doubt your "harman zerger" would put all his characters in the same group. It probably defeats his purpose.

If you so wish, you could meet up in-game with the whole of the 92RU and we can have a chat. And by the way, we've just got our first member who's not from our class - one "Stuart Delay". We can send the email he sent to our inbox to you, if you're interested.

We don't mind losing a battle in-game. It's happened more than once already, and I'd say we're kind of used to it! But what we can't accept is people mindlessly spewing accusations of us cheating. This is especially so for accusations without any evidence whatsoever.

Hence, I humbly ask that you retract your derogatory statement. Thank you very much for your kind attention.

EDIT: There may be some matters, or points of view, that I have failed to see or account for. If that is the case, please bring it up! Constructive criticism is always welcome. Thanks, --Establish 09:13, 16 July 2009 (BST)

Certainly, firite and establish. Sorry for keeping you waiting. I've been trying to respond, but you guys keep editing my page. Heh.
First, your explanation is good enough for me, I shall remove that comment.
Now, as to why I wrote that comment. See I wrote in your group's talk page a few days ago, because Potassium Hydroxide's in-game speech puzzled me. Please read that first. I never got a response. And meanwhile, this is what I was seeing:
  • The unfortunate zerg-like traits of the potato characters.
  • The fact that you have accounts called firite and etirif, and the shirai ones, not to mention etirif's "real name" in it's profile being Potassium hydroxide, another account of yours. I mean, very repetitive bits, not quite like accounts made by different independent people.
  • Activity patterns like this one, where your accounts activate one just right after another, as someone logging in and out of multiple accounts would.
  • And again, complete silence from you when confronted.
I hope you understand why all this was very suspicious to me, and in fact mildly upsetting -- I don't like cheaters any more than Potassium hydroxide. But it is clear now. Don't worry, I haven't reported you to any list or done anything else than writing that comment (intended in part to draw your attention), because, of course, I couldn't be sure.
You may want to consider adding a note to your group page, explaining how the accounts, even though they look too similar, are actually owned by different people. Because, as you've seen, it is very easy to mistake you guys for a zerger.
Cheers. --Sophie ◆◆◆ CAPD 09:28, 16 July 2009 (BST)

Hey, thanks for your quick reply. We meant the namings to be a practical joke, as we wanted to seem all related in one way or another. Sorry if that confused you or anyone else. Let me clarify some stuff then:

       * The unfortunate zerg-like traits of the potato characters.
- Well, this happens to be three guys from the same gaming club who are with us and like to make practical jokes, sry about that. I'll try to split them so they don't seem to be all at one place when they like to do things together.
       * The fact that you have accounts called firite and etirif, and the shirai ones, not to mention etirif's "real name" in it's profile being Potassium hydroxide
-Again, the naming is a practical joke, and we're sorry it seemed so confusing to you. firite is the main 92nd core guy, and he (me =D) along with establish invited everyone to play UD. /My best friend, who happens to be one year older than me, decided to take etirif, as he didnt know what to call his character. Originally playing as a zombie to kill me, he eventually joined me in the 92nd. As for the shirai brothers, its real hard core real. two japanese brothers in my class are those two players.
       * Activity patterns like this one, where your accounts activate one just right after another, as someone logging in and out of multiple accounts would.
-This is easily explained; we like to go on msn, without anyone in game, and ask people to do stuff one at a time to report back. We found this to be the most efficient method of killing zombies, unfortunately, garrafuzz was one of those victims.
       * And again, complete silence from you when confronted.
-I personally have never heard any talk in game from you. I think others have, but decided not to respond due to a waste of AP maybe? i'll ask those idiots. Oh, and our talk page... we have never checked that to be honest. Compounded by the fact that it is mid-term exams here in my country, we only meet up to play UD. You might have noticed, it was only me and Establish editing the 92nd page. no one else wanted to, unfortunately. As a result, both of us didn't check the UD Wiki until now. We're sorry for any inconvenience caused. --User:Firite 16:50, 16 July 2009 (GMT+8)

Hey firite. Yup, I also just realised you may have not even noticed my comment, if you're new to the wiki... that was all my mistake, to assume you were ignoring me. There's a "watch" function in the wiki, you may want to watch your group's page. Mighty convenient, that. And I will be fixing the formatting of your comments above, hope you don't mind. Talk soon. I might even apply for your group with a human alt, you seem like cool guys :) Cheers. --Sophie ◆◆◆ CAPD 10:01, 16 July 2009 (BST)
Hey, thanks for understanding. You're welcome anytime. Just drop me a mail =D --User:Firite 17:04, 16 July 2009 (GMT+8)

Wow, thanks for the speedy reply. The namings - there's a deep story behind each. For instance, "Shirai" actually means white in Japanese. The names were meant to be oxymorons. As for the Potato guys, well, it started off as just a "Salmon Potato" in another game. They then thought it funny, and decided to make names with (fish) Potato, and they were slated to be PKers! (One could imagine the laughter generated from seeing rows of people killed by multiple Potatoes)

Admittedly we never thought about the consequences i.e. being accused of zerging. It isn't your fault. It's entirely understandable - after all, we came to the conclusion, too, that Dieharmanz/Dieharmanz2 were zergs. However, it was very gracious of you to withdraw that statement. I'd like to thank you on the behalf of the 92nd.

Oh, and sorry for utterly destroying your Talk page with these comments!

Cheers, Establish 10:13, 16 July 2009 (BST)
