Tolly Library is located in the north-western suburb of Dakerstown. It's one of the five libraries in Dakerstown.

Description

A small grey-stone building with a curved roof. Over Tolly Library's main doors is the word "BIBLIOTHECA" which means "Library" in Latin, reflecting the fact that Tolly Library once contained lots of books about Rome and Latin.

History

Tolly Library was only completed in 2003, after years of debates between neighbors and the Malton City Council on whether this piece of barren land should become a library or another park. In the end they decided on a library (20 votes for, 14 against, 1 absent).

On September 25th, 2007, the Drama Club staged a performance of "Army of Darkness" at Tolly Library as part of their Border Tour of Malton. The group is traveling clockwise around the border suburbs of Malton with one show in each suburb. Today they performed for the lone zombie here. See their group page for performing groups and schedules.
