Budgett Walk
Description
A row of down-at-heel recession-era shops, including Poundstretchers, the last branch of Woolworths still in existence, and a Clinton's gift shop specialising in Get Well From Your Infection Soon cards.
History
Budgett Walk acquired its reputation as a magnet for cheapskates during the late 1980s recession, and remained that way even through through the boom years of the 90s Blair Generation. By the time Chancellor Brown's boom turned to Prime Minster Brown's bust, the zombie apocalypse had already cast a deep shadow over the area's economy, affecting employment in retail as looting, medical services and security became the leading local industries.
