As such, shopping centres are frequently used as safehouses and fortresses by survivors. Zombies often check inside (when they can get in), and organized zombie groups sometimes lay siege to them. They are listed as a Tactical Resource Point. Characters with the Shopping skill can loot specific stores. Those without will find these items at random: Bookstore: books, poetry books. Drugstore: first aid kits. Gun Store: pistols, pistol clips, shotguns, shotgun shells. Hardware Store: crowbars, fire axes, flare guns, spray cans, knives, portable generators, toolboxes. Liquor Store: beer, wine. Sporting Goods: baseball bats, cricket bats, fencing foils, golf clubs, hockey sticks, pool cues, ski poles, tennis rackets. Tech Store: GPS units, mobile phones, radios, radio transmitters. Shopping centres are large buildings, and are often barricaded as such.

Description

Elstree Shopping Centre [507,87] - [508,88] is a four-block shopping centre located in the Borehamwood suburb of Elstree. It is one of just two such shopping centres in the entire city; the other being Borehamwood Shopping Centre [570,56] - [571,57].

Extremely Heavily Barricaded except for North East corner at Very Strongly Barricaded(+2).

November 2008

13 November 2008: I just passed through the mall today. It looks as though there isn't much interest in the mall for either side at the moment. The two northern corners were lit and barricaded, but the southeast corner was ruined, with doors closed. A small number of survivors were inside, with no zombies inside. Only one zombie was spotted outside the mall.
