Description

Maltonfdsymbol2.jpg

Gable Walk Fire Station is a fire station located in the suburb of Rhodenbank. It is considered a key tactical point to hold in the suburb. It is situated between two NecroTech facilities, meaning that control the fire station places survivors in close proximity to both of the neighboring facilities. The building also borders alongside the suburb of Dulston and is located a mere three city blocks away from Treweeke Mall.

The fire station is a local branch of the Malton Fire Department.

Barricade Policy

Please keep this building at VSB.

This building is a part of the Rhodenbank Highway, a series of buildings that are always Very Strongly (VS+2) barricaded so that inexperienced survivors without the Free Running skill will still be able to find a series of adjacent safehouses that they can enter while traveling through the suburb. This is in accordance with the suburb barricade plan enforced by the Rhodenbank Civil Defense Corps.

If the building is ever under attack from five or more zombies only then are survivors granted permission to barricade beyond Very Strongly, but only until the threat has passed. Survivors are warned that all members of the RCDC who find the barricades raised higher than Very Strongly have the right to lower them if there is no immediate threat to the building at that time.

Current Events

October 25th 2009 - Building was at VSB++ with 2 survivors, one heavily wounded, when I dropped in. Barricaded building up to EHB and patched up the wounded before making a move back to St. Marks. Around 14 zombies outside ... this place is going to be hotly contested for the immediate future as Carlyle Building fell earlier today. --OO Willie 14:46, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

October 23rd, 2009 - oO Willie - This building changed hands again for the living when I arrived. Place is repaired but unpowered. Barricades at EHB+ when I left for Carlyle building. No survivors inside the station. This place will probably go back to the zombies soon if no survivors stay to keep the barricades up.

October 17th, 2009 - oO Willie Stepped in this morning and found the power on but barricades down with doors wide open and one wounded survivor. Necrowatch indicates at least 13 zombies outside but funnily enough, not a single one walked into what is essentially an open happy meal box (O_o). I quickly barricaded up to VSB++ before healing the wounded survivor. We won't be able to hold this building with 2 survivors unless more help arrives.

December 9th, 2008 - The situation is reported as "tense" ever since word that all 3 local NTs had fallen to zombies in just the past day. The fact that two of those NT facilities were directly north of the fire station, and the third one directly south only added to the concern. At the time D.I.T.P.S reported the building was Heavily barricaded.

December 7th, 2008 - With the Carlyle Building being overrun, some of the survivors have fled to the fire station which is barricaded and, for the time being, safe from zombies.

December 5th, 2008 - Dead vs Blue recon reported that, while still ruined, the fire station was empty of zombies.

Update: Major Azzhole of Metal Fox reported that he had secured the building. The building had been repaired and Extremely Heavily barricaded.

November 24th, 2008 - Two years later... the suburb is still in ruins after an invasion from the Militant Order of Barhah. The MoB is long gone, but many buildings are still ruined. The fire station is mostly empty these days, with the doors wide open.

October 20th, 2006 - A survivor reported that the fire station still needs of a generator. Anyone who can drop off a generator is asked to do so, as this is a tactical fortress and needs to be kept running. It also needs a radio.
