Welcome to Urban Dead
If you are reading this guide as a complete beginner, Bravo! You have take the first step towards getting the most fun out of Urban Dead by clicking the wiki link.
Seeing as how you have already discovered the most invaluable resource for doing well in Urban Dead (the wiki). This guide will focus on a rigid 3 day system to get you as much exp as fast as possible.
this guide should be read in conjunction with:http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/First_Day_in_Malton
Best class for this tutorial
My first recommendation for survivors would be to start as a Scout (free-running is very important for getting items if you decide to play for more than 2 days. Also as a military class, you will be able to buy weapons training when you finally do get some experience.
Don't use any precious AP just yet!
Once you have created your scout take not of which neighborhood you are in and which building you are at, and find out where you are on the map.
- Tip - I like to play Urban dead in a new window with 3 tabs: game, wiki map, and an additional wiki tab for random wiki research (items, radio frequencies, anything that is not related to my location.
Okay, use some AP but not too many.
now that you know where you are. Hopefully you are in a green or yellow zone. Locate the nearest Fire-station, hospital, or Police station. These will most likely be Extremely heavily barricaded, so you will have to enter an adjacent building that is VSB, and use your free-running to get inside the heavily barricaded building.
- Once there you will want to search for the following items:'
- hospital:
3-12 First Aid Kits
Police Station:
1 pistol
2-10 clips
Fire-station:
1 fire axe
I recommend focusing on ether healing or attacking. So if you only get 3 FAKs, try to get 10 clips for your pistol. If you only get 2 pistol clips, try to get 12 FAKs.
Furthermore, If you find a fire station before a police station, you can skip the Police Station and just use your fire-axe for attacking.
A fire-axe and 12 FAKs will probably yield the most exp as fast as possible early in the game.
Now, the method
once you have you gear its time to find some action!
You are going to get xp one of 2 ways:
using FAKs on your self or survivors
dealing damage to zombies
you will want to stay between green and yellow areas mostly and while you walk around the city (outside of buildings) go from building to building so that you can see which ones are VSB, so that you always know where the closest safe place is.
as a healer you will have difficulty starting out because the game does not tell you which survivors are hurt and which have full health. (so you will have to wait until a survivor asks for healing, or take a chance on a survivor who is standing outside.
as an attacker try not to kill zombies at revive points. (cemeteries) but look for zombies outside that are alone, or in a group of 2. and always be sure to save enough AP to get back to your VSB entryway.
