Before the outbreak, Havercroft was a pleasant suburb, with a thriving business centre surrounding Ackland Mall. Low crime rates as well as this proximity to the mall made it a highly desireable area to live in, resulting in above average house prices, which in turn, meant that the suburb contained some of the best schools in the city.
Havercroft is now more commonly referred to as a 'first wave' suburb, as despite a brave effort from the many firefighters of this suburb, it was quickly overrun in the early days of the outbreak.
There are still fairly large concentrations of survivors active in Havercroft, mostly centred around Ackland Mall where looting of the ruined stores still continues, as well as a small group of survivors dedicated to protecting and maintaining the MalTel phone mast on the roof.
Due to the large numbers of survivors, there are still a large number of zombies shambling through the streets preying on lone survivors. Because of this, survivors travelling through Havercroft are advised to stay off the streets at night.
