Suggestion talk:20070723 Radio Interference
Phone Masts
Brnahraruaj$@agj* - Nice, amusing, interesting, and actually makes loss of radios matter and how or when you use or set up radios something to think about, mabey next someone will come up with something that will make Phone masts an important location like they should be.--Karekmaps?! 04:12, 23 July 2007 (BST)
- Phone masts can't be destroyed, but maybe ransacking a powered phone mast building could cause the same effects as this does on ALL frequencies, for as long as the power is on. The range of the message bocking would likely have to be limited to just that one suburb to maintain balance, but the initial "death cry" could easily reach every radio in the city. . . . swiers 05:15, 23 July 2007 (BST)
Just an FYI

Kill - Five minutes wouldn't really make much of a difference in communication for this sort of game, so it would just serve to annoy people rather than offer some tactical advantage. Making this interference time longer would just make communication more difficult in a game where it is already difficult, and would only affect those who don't metagame. I see no need to get yet another help call on the radio, especially one that limits my actions for the next five minutes. The only benefit of this is that it makes a little more fun for zombies, but they can't even listen to the static that they're creating. |
Seriously survivor communication isn't difficult at all, just misused. Making it hard is a good thing because it lowers misuse(zombie speech actually is very useful in game). But anyway, the benefits are actually a lot more then limiting actions for five minutes, it disable communication and it is a psychological buff, it lets you know part of your communication network is in danger which means you are in in danger(usually). Think of it like LUE saying they are coming to your mall, except you don't know if it's gonna be LUE, RRF, or 3 Ferals. And as for the second part, Zombies can hear the radio. It's just a matter of setting it to the right station before you die, because radios don't take interaction it actually works for a zombie, they just can't use transmitters(GPS are different and zombies can't use them at all.)--Karekmaps?! 15:30, 23 July 2007 (BST)
- Not really on the suggestion (much), but I find it kinda amusing that zombie communication is much more effective than survivor communication, mainly because it has such harsh limitations upon it that it can't be misused by idiots. Feeding groan can only be used when survivors are present, scent death leads you to the horde, gestures are very limited... we laugh at the stupidity of survivors spamming their own communication networks (or at least I do), and I sometimes think that they'd be better off loosing the radio altogether :) -- boxy T Nuts block it!
