Constructive Criticism
I think you chaps are missing the point of a zombie apocalypse. --Bobs Aturd 04:09, 25 August 2007 (BST)
Which would be....?Nalikill 04:11, 25 August 2007 (BST)
- that you shouldn't be surprised when zombies begin to gain a numerical advantage. Any time zombies are the minority, you shouldn't rejoice. Rather you should be a tad disappointed. --Bobs Aturd 04:21, 25 August 2007 (BST)
- You'd be 100% correct... if these were actual dumb, slavering monsters- wait, okay, I guess you have a point... but my point is, since people are on the other side of those machines, and a very few of them do actually have brains, they=survivors. So we should logically strive for balance of numbers, not a real 'oh crap, zombies are about to win.' Nalikill 04:23, 25 August 2007 (BST)
- Well gee, zmbies were under 45% for HOW long now? Wouldn't the balance you desire mean they should now swing up to 55% percent or so for equally long? Swiers 04:27, 25 August 2007 (BST)
Points Countered
OK, the first "counter" you made seems to be that nerfing survivors is a buff to zombies. Not necessarily true. Survivor defenses have not been decreased one bit; barricades can still stop zombies cold. Nerfing a single part of survivor tactics does not universally boost all zombies. And hell, a good portion of those 16,000 zombies are Mrh-cows anyhow- what boost did THEY get from Ruin?
Secondly, you said that the free run mod "Forced us to spend at least 2 extra AP when traveling over ruined territory." Also not necessarily true. There is no need to spend more than 1 extra AP, that being the one which you use to enter a building after traveling outside via normal movement. And finding an entry point is pretty easy, with Ruined buildings being visible at a distance and able to be free-run OUT of.
The "nerf" is more that the cost to travel in zombie controlled areas is no longer PREDICTABLE. And really, its pretty silly that the effort needed to travel through a zombie infested area ever WAS predictable. Unpredictability is the ESSENCE of survivor existence a zombie apocalypse, to tie into the point above. Swiers 04:24, 25 August 2007 (BST)
- Heh. I KNOW no one actually reads these stupid things before voting, that's why I prodded you into moving it here... that, and if an decent sysop had come along, they'd have a heart attack at the string of replies. Nalikill 04:29, 25 August 2007 (BST)
- Pheh. As far as I'm concerned, its YOUR page, you can splash on as may replies as you want. But it was getting long enough to interfere. If you'd rather folks read the above, i can edit my first reply to include it. Swiers 05:34, 25 August 2007 (BST)
