Type: Improvement.
Scope: Radios.
Description: This is simple. I don't know how it appears in all browsers, but when you go to change the radio frequency, the numbers in the box where the change will be are smashed, and virtually unreadable. If you make a typo, you don't find out until after you've retuned. So, I have a simpe request. Keep the digitized format if you want, but at least increase the size of the box and unbold it, so that we can actually read the numbers we want changed. How about it? Can we get this passed unanimouslyly?

Discussion (Radio frequency text boxes)

a 2pt. font increase would probably be perfect. but there's got to be a reason is was made so small in the first place.--Jack13 16:49, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

I think this is a useful suggestion, but it needs to be done to mobile phones too! I feel like a real arse when i'm texting and my typo paranoia means i have to copy and paste into a word document to make sure i'm spelling it all right. Acoustic Pie 16:58, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Oh yeah, I forgot how bad it was with mobile phones. Certainly those, too. I think the reason the text was originally made that way was to fit inside the changable box, so the player would see exactly what to change. Unfortunately, since the box size is the same as typical text size, the characters inside needed to be smashed down to fit inside the box provided. Bolding the text just made things even worse. I think simply gettign rid of the box and just inserting brackets to enter text, and maybe simply using a different color for the characters entered, rather than bolding, should fix it all.--Kolechovski 17:11, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

I suppose, but i think to keep it simpler it should just be increasing the box size and text inside to what it would be like for speaking and broadcasting, however keep it in the original mobile phone green colour so peopl don't get confused. Acoustic Pie 19:19, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
Both the rf text and the mobile text font are serious problems with the game that realy need to be solved.--SeventythreeTalk 19:22, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
Indeed they are, still this shouldn't take Kevan too long to change as surely it is just changing a few numbers in the script for the text and box size? Also the contacts on the mobile phone need doing too. --Acoustic Pie 20:00, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
  1. Keep - Because we need this implemented--CorndogheroT-S-Z 20:27, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

the text for EVERYTHING needs to be revamped, imo. it is lame that you can't see what you are typing. period. i think different fonts for text msg and radio broadcasts are intentional flavour ... but i want the interface for communication changed all round to a decent-sized, more functional input box. --WanYao 18:44, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Discussion One Suggestion Voting

Text Is Fine

That isn't what everyone said here [[1]]

The broadcasting isn't an issue but apparently everyone thought seeing the numbers while changing them on the radio wasen't good, and cell's were too hard to read. Did i miss the memo when everyones opinion on the matter changed to the opposite?--Zach016 03:20, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

I mean for realism the text should be hard to read, because when i'm listening to a walkie talkie i can never understand them, meh maybe the numbers are bad, a screen shot would prove your arguement, and it might change my vote :O --Bring The Pain!Anti Gorefest5Fight The Pain!TMW!B! 03:24, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

You got very little input, from pretty much 3 users. They did vote for your suggestion but are in no way representative of the communities views on the subject. The purpose of Talk:Suggestions is for people to see what might need improving on your suggestion(such as being overpowered), not to be a feeling ground for how voting will go.--Karekmaps?! 10:55, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

it is a feeling ground for how the vote will go, or improving them is impossible if the voting still goes the opposite. That and this suggestion isn't about the text you recieve (i know it sounds that way) its about when you change the freq on a radio. It's digitized and barely legible.--Zach016 00:36, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
oh, and it isn't my suggestion ethier, i just support it.--Zach016 00:37, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
I know what the suggestion is about, I do read you know. If that text can't be read it is a bug because it is a compatibility issue with the game, many users have commented how the text is perfectly legible for them. As for Talk:Suggestions being a feeling ground for voting, that's just foolishness, the purpose of Talk:Suggestions has always been to assist in development of suggestions, if it were a feeling ground for voting people would vote.--Karekmaps?! 01:01, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
