Talk:Types of Museums
New Museums
I think that Kevan should add (assuming he ever considers updating the game again) museums of piracy and medieval history, and we should be able to scavenge weaponry and obtain clothes from these museums. Jerran, 21:00 April 8, 2015
- That could be fun. Why don't you post about it over at Developing Suggestions and see what others think about it? Not many people will ever see comments made on this particular page. —Aichon— 15:36, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
wrong redirects
redirects for items should link on Decorative Items page, not here. Also i'm not sure it would be reasonable to have on this page lists of all museums of each type - better to hide them through links in future --Duke GarlandLCD 22:20, 27 April 2007 (BST)
- I'd like to have a page that lists all museums of each type-- that way, if I want to find a stuffed alligator (for example), this page will tell me where the closest one is. I believe that was one of the main reasons for the QSG Museum Expedition in the first place. Buddhagazelle 02:41, 29 April 2007 (BST)Buddhagazelle
- Good idea about the redirects for the Decorative Items-- all the redirects for museum types are messed up now by this format change. I'm working on fixing them. Buddhagazelle 02:41, 29 April 2007 (BST)Buddhagazelle
- PS is there a good reason for the plurals in this revision? I'm happy to leave it this way but stylistically it strikes me as odd to name a category "Stuffed Animals Museums" instead of "Stuffed Animal Museum". Buddhagazelle 02:59, 29 April 2007 (BST)Buddhagazelle
Incorrect information?
After searching The Wheadon Museum , which is the only impressionist painting museum (according to the info on this page) in Malton, i found no paintings, but only tons of statues (Impressionist statues and cracked statues). I am quite new to wikipedia stuff, so i decided to discuss it before moving The Wheadon Museum to the impressionist sculpture museums section. --KiT 2:51, 04 May 2007 (GMT + 3:00)
- By any chance are you still near the The Wheadon Museum? if so can you tell us if the description of reads: its installation by an impressionist artist now thick with dust this will let us know if the problem is the museum is just in the wrong category or if we have the wrong information for Impressionist Art Museums. Thanks - Vantar 00:18, 4 May 2007 (BST)
- there's no info on Wheadon on List_of_Museums#Lamport_Hills (which is the main store of raw data for Museums), so i don't know where did this info get from. it looks like being wrong really --Duke GarlandLCD 07:19, 4 May 2007 (BST)
- The discription is correct. It says its installation by an impressionist artist now thick with dust. The only problem is that it is not the painting museum, but sculpture museum. --KiT 10:38, 4 May 2007 (BST)
- Interesting. to have a 100% view on things we should also check what is searchable in The_Swanborough_Museum (45,89 in Kinch Heights) which has the same description. If these museums are only with impressionist sculptures, where do impressional paintings come from? note: there are also museums with description its collection of impressionist sculpture ransacked by looters. in malton --Duke GarlandLCD 15:12, 4 May 2007 (BST)
- I'd question the whole existence of such item as Impressionist painting. In the article, It links to the list of decorative items which has NO Impressionist painting item in the list. --KiT 20:13, 5 May 2007 (BST)
- oops. i think it was my mistake that created this non-existance item. i was copy-pasting info from the other art museums without checking this. you're right, i'll modify page right away --Duke GarlandLCD 21:04, 5 May 2007 (BST)

Heh, here's another incorrect information i found: the Perrott Museum is a cubist SCULPTURE museum, not painting. Since its the only museum in the "cubist painting" section, i'll totally delete it and add The Perrott Museum To the list of cubist sculpture museum. The fact that its Sculpture is 100%, i've checked it myself. Also, i doubt the existence of such item as Cubist Painting. --KiT 23:01, 24 May 2007 (BST)
- Yes, seems you're right... *whistles innocently* --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 15:51, 25 May 2007 (BST)
- Believe it or not, but Cubist Paintings do exist. I found a museum with them. --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 21:12, 20 June 2007 (BST)
- Mmm, this makes cubist paintings second rarest item type, second only to pottery items (unless you find other pottery museums). It seems for me that Kevan didnt do any serious randomizing for museums types - as you see, museums with close positions in alphabetical order tend to have same items inside. And the The Zwanenburg Museum is the only one which's name begins with "Z". I'm pretty sure we'll not find many more museums of this type. Anyway, i'm glad that Cubist paintings exist. Lack of them would make the game incomplete... like if our universe had magnetism, but no electricity.--KiT 21:48, 20 June 2007 (BST)
- Just 1 last museum left to check (in Ketchelbank)... whoa, that was a lot of work --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 07:53, 30 June 2007 (BST)
- Done. The page is now complete with the lists of museums... --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 16:37, 30 June 2007 (BST)

Now that thisd all appeared, i'm doubting existance of European Sculptures in Types_of_Museums#European_Sculpture_Museums. Could you please check any of those, KiT? I'm suspecting there are just paintings... --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 21:58, 25 May 2007 (BST)
- Looks like there are european sculptures in game - i see them installed in such museum. i'll make edits once i'll found one myself --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 16:25, 14 June 2007 (BST)
- I'm pretty sure that the museums which have description "its installation by a European artist ransacked by looters" are sculpture museums. I'm basing on fact that museums of other types with same description are sculpture museums, so it needs checking. [added 5 min. later]. the page of The Eastwood Museum says it's sculpture museum, which proves my theory. -KiT 18:59, 14 June 2007 (BST)
- Ok, i did found a European sculpture there. Unpowered search, 1 from 8 searches. --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 22:42, 14 June 2007 (BST)
