You are on a bridge a meter above a fast moving river. Thick steel frames with large rivets suspend the bridge. A pair of shoes dangle from a cross beam above. Power lines run to the side of the bridge. There is an abandoned van.
Water-logged debris idly bob or float by in the river.
- You walk to the eastern side of the bridge and lean over the railing, hunching casually. Floating ever closer is boat, a small thing, metal polished and engraved by its collision with rocks. Inside is a survivor, momentarily defeated and sprawled on his back, as if he had only moments before leapt into the boat after running for his life. It is clear he is alive by the way he reflexively resists the rocking of the boat. You intend to call out, yet only watch him as the boat floats closer.
Possible actions:
- Watch him
Inventory:
- You carry only a whistle, a bent knife and a smashed radio. It has been a long ride. Your blue jeans are shredded; the T-shirt, stretched 2 sizes larger, is more red than white, and your shoes are unaccounted for. Overtop it all you wear a yellow rain jacket. Perched atop your head is a crumpled paper party hat.
