You are on a bridge a meter above a fast moving river. Thick steel frames with large rivets suspend the bridge. A pair of shoes dangle from a cross beam above. Power lines run to the side of the bridge. There is an abandoned van.
Water-logged debris idly bob or float by in the river.
- You stand at the railing. The current rushes under you, only a meter below. To the east, the river is narrower; to the west it widens. At the shore you can make out splotches of colour—red, blue, yellow, and a dirty white. The mud covers whatever they are. You think little of it.
Possible actions:
- Examine the shoes Inspect the van
Inventory:
- You carry only a whistle, a bent knife and a smashed radio. It has been a long ride. Your blue jeans are shredded; the T-shirt, stretched 2 sizes larger, is more red than white, and your shoes are unaccounted for. Overtop it all you wear a yellow rain jacket. Perched atop your head is a crumpled paper party hat.
