You are on a road before a gate. A heavy, mechanically operated bar is secured across the gate. Rust creates embroidery across the metallic surfaces.
A sign positioned on the gate reads:
- DO NOT ATTEMPT TO WAIT FOR FAMILY
- DO NOT BLOCK THE ENTRANCEWAY
- EVACUATE THE AREA IMMEDIATELY
- The gate, forming two doors, permits a vertical slit between. Perhaps with the shifting of the ground the gate has begun to part ways. You peek through.
Two lines of cars bumper-to-bumper block the roadway's two lanes. Capsized vehicles that were driven down the ditch haven't made it very far. Multiple failed attempts at barricading the roadway has produced lines of junk, trash, and baggage mounted against strained fences.
Possible actions:
- Open the gate
Inventory:
- You carry only a bent knife and a smashed radio. It has been a long ride. Your blue jeans are shredded; the T-shirt, stretched 2 sizes larger, is more red than white, and your shoes are unaccounted for. You wear a crumpled paper party hat.
