You are standing on the roof of the Bartlett Building, a tall grey-stone building with a squared roof. The wind is cool and whistles across the roof-top.
- Down the street, between some buildings, the Bartlett Building. But you quickly realize, after struggling to hang and hold an overhang, that you have not nearly the strength to climb. So you walk around the building until you find a fire escape (the ladder had been pulled down); and climbing it, as high as it goes, which reaches the near to the top, and the rest of the distance is easy to get to because up there, the walls are like steps, and when up finally you look out over the city.
