You are on a deserted street. There are houses here, the doorways and windows have been covered by plastic tarps. Dried blood trails partially scoured by weather follow down the street.
On each door, the words CONDEMNED is proclaimed for every house.
- You progress around derelict vehicles lined up and down the street. The houses feel almost identical with the plastic tarps covering all possible openings. The severe attention to safety, the particular detail of it. So much you've seen has been laid bare to the elements. Not a care has been taken should one step on something unfortunate, and then have it rear up and bite with mangled maw. Quite literally, in fact.
How the terrible has become so terrible that things actually got a little better. Perhaps desensitized may be a better word. It is all so absurd to you, looking at the houses, hearing still air. Things are so much worse than here.
Now's not the time for melodrama.
Inventory:
- You carry a knife, a journal, a bloodied radio and a flare gun. You have a pistol (4) and three spare magazines inside your vest pouches. You are wearing a tactical vest, blue jeans, a white T-shirt and a pair of shoes.
