A young firefighter with a backpack full of supplies and a fire axe swinging on his belt. He wears his old fireman's jacket over a dark blue polo and jeans. The look in his eyes tells you of his determination.
The Beginning
I ducked into an open doorway and tried to shut the door. The rotter my movement had attracted followed quickly and banged against the door, trying to turn the nob. I held it shut with all my strength, but it wasn't enough. The door flew open, flinging me back from the doorway.
The zombie stood there for a moment, eyes blazing maniacally as I fumbled my axe from my belt. He suddenly gave a loud groan, and lurched forward. I gave a scared sort of shout and charged. We met halfway between us, me swinging wildly with my axe and it trying to bite and scratch me with yellowed claws and black teeth.
I ducked beneath it's right arm and brought my axe upward. I felt it's arm break with a sickening crack. I tried to move behind it, but it was too quick. The monster raked at me with a hand missing several fingers, and I felt the wounds it opened begin to bleed. I swung with my axe, one-handed and inflicted a gash in it's chest, but that didn't stop it. It came at me again, and I swung with all the strength of my desperation. I hit the rotter in the leg, and it buckled beneath it's own weight. I swung again, aiming for it's head and crushed the zombies skull.
I stood there, wounded but safe for the moment. Then I heard the shuffling, the groaning that meant a horde of the zombies was near. I swung the door shut, and ran to the back. Bursting from a window, I rolled as I landed and came up running. I ran as fast as I could, heading toward my childhood neighborhood, Huntley Heights. I knew I would find survivors there and safety.
Bio
I don't think of myself as a particularly brave person, just as one who won't shirk his duty. I was sent into Malton to help with the evacuation, and keep the citizens safe. I have devoted myself to that duty, to serving all of Maltons living. I will grow in the ways of the Survivors, and become a defender of all who live and those who yearn for life.
