The raider known as Blades carried a machete with him among other weapons and demonstrated skill at using it when killing zombies in the early days of the undead plague that had spread globally and was rapidly giving away to anarchy and mayhem. During the raid, Blades was shot by SWAT officer Peter Washington who was one of three survivors holding up within the shopping mall Blades and the raiders had invaded. After being shot, Blades fell head over heels over a railing to the lower level of the mall where he presumably died (or not) either from the gunshot wound, fall, or both.
