Courier: creator and editor of the now-defunct Malton Messenger. Journalism seemed like a pretty stable profession, but she never really thought about how an outbreak of zombies might affect the newspaper business.
Operating from an old publishing building, she managed to get just two papers out before some smartass decided that 'very heavily' wasn't barricaded enough... and used the old mechanical printing press she was working from to block the advancing zombie hordes.
She went underground for a year or so after that, picking up enough to survive on her own, and has recently been spotted venturing further away from her safehouse.
