Formerly medical officer member of a rescue squad come to Malton for civilian rescue, during the Outbreak things didn't go as they were supposed to be, and she saw her way out cut off and her squad dispersed. Many of her companions died while she was treating their injuries, only to rise again. At first she fled in horror, but then she regained her composure, and learned that the only way to stop a person from turning into a zombie was to shoot their head, even if they were companions. Soon the more than twenty soldiers forming the Cerberus squad became five, then two. During a fight to rescue some civilians under attack, Hikari and Jason, her last squad mate, were separated. Since then she wanders around Malton trying to help survivors fighting the zombies and taking care of the wounded, asking people if they had seen her last companion...
Years after such happenings, Hikari has come to radically divert from her initial goals. Having found significant stashes of tea of many types and qualities, she now wanders through Malton spreading tea culture and enjoying her time with accultured people. Since the plague does not come to an end, she reasons, at least let it not plague our minds and turn us to our most savage instincts. We would be no better than zombies if we did.
