Background
Note: This Biography is a work of fiction. Any and all similarities to real life people or events is pure coincidental and is unintentional.
Teenage Years (1983-2002)
Rich Amsterdam was born in Illinois on March 13th, 1983. Lived an average life, with the exception of scoring high marks in math and sciences as well as an intrest in logic and computers. He joined the US Army after graduating High School in June of 2001. After taking the entrance and skill apptitude tests, he was sent to the Military Intelligence Academy. He graduated in Janurary of 2002 at the Age of 19, and was awarded an Army Achievement Medal as well as an Army Commendation for being not only the youngest graduate to ever graduate the academy, but for graduating at the top of his class.
Early Military Career (2002-2004)
Upon graduating, he was assigned to a Special Operations unit working high-level Intelligence Issues. He quickly progressed through the enlisted ranks and impressed everyone with his job. He helped develope new tactical computer systems, training, and was personally responsible for the capture of at least 20 terrorists internationally. But, one day, everything changed. He was called into a briefing at night. This wasn't unusal, especially because of the work he did. He was told about a corporation which had been experimenting with a mind-control drug that had been accidently released. While it was secure, they wanted to evacuate and destroy the facility and needed a special operations team to do it. Rich Amsterdam, being a Staff Sergeant, was given command of the team becuase of his high-level clearance and technical experience. They arrived in a secluded area of Columbia, and became part of what would be called "The San Salvador Massacre". This incident would not only Change Rich Amsterdam forever, but would be the first in a number of similar incidents in South America. It would also be the first confirmed incident of the Dead returning to Life...
The San Salvadore Massacre (August 15th 2004)
After arriving in small village of San Salvador where the facility was supposed to be located, the team was surprised to see the entire village deserted and boarded up. This didn't surprise them, as since it was such a secluded area, Drug Lords would sometimes attack the towns and take it's citizens as slaves to work on their farms. They proceeded to the Facility, not knowing what awaited them, and definatly not prepared for it. They were a team of 12 soldiers. Their goal was to recover the trapped scientists and secure the research until the symptoms wore off.

Deployment to Maltron (March 2008)
As part of the reclimation effort in some of the areas that Necrotic Biological Activity was at a minimum, the US Army began sending units in to begin trying to get the situtation under control. The 506th MP Batallionwas left to guard a suburb when it was taken by surprise. Nearly the entire unit was killed in the first clash. A majority of the command group survived because they were in armored Mobile command posts at the time. However, because of this attack, the military ceased operations and re-restablished the Quarrantine Zone. Without the capability to get either supplies, or support, the remenints of the 506th Military Police Batallion were forced to abandon their vehicles one by one as they ran out of fuel or broke down. The Commanders vehicle was the last to go. A malfunction in the internal power system caused the vehicle's internal Life Support system to malfunction. With the threat of a Vaccume, the decision was made to stop the vehicle, open the roof hatch and attempt a repair of the system. This proved to be nearly fatal. Sergeant Rich Amsterdam (Nicknamed Intelguy because he was part of the Intelligence Corps) was sitting in the drivers compartment when his sergeant told him the repairs were complete. But, as he re-entered the vehicle, he didn't come back alone. He was grabbed by a zombie and when they pulled him in, he was already dead, but the zombie came in with him. His Section leader, a young lieutenant drew his pistol and fired at the zombie, but the rounds had richocted off of the wall and hit the Commander. In the end, the Zombie, commander, and sergeant lay dead in the back of the vehicle. Intelguy sealed the top hatch, and shut-off the engine, and tested the Life Support system. It worked. He knew they needed to save fuel, and get rid of the bodies before they rose so they had had one chance. Him and his LT would have to open the back door just enough to toss the bodies and then seal it again. He opened the rear door, and they were lucky, not a zombie in Sight. They decided to head for the group of survivors they saw when they were heading east through Rhodenbank. However, something the Lieutenant hadn't told him, was that he had been infected. Intelguy continued to drive the vehicle towards the Hindmarsh Police station, but shortly before they arrived, he heard strange noises in the back. When he opened the hatch the Lieutenant, who had succumbed to the infection, gabbed him. Fearing for his life, he grabbed a fire extinguished and sprayed him in the face. As the zombie lieutenant recoiled, he grabbed his rifle and fired his last shots, ending the un-life of the lieutenant, and sealing his fate as the sole survivor of the 506th. Unfortunatly, the shots had also damaged some of the internal systems and he had to leave the vehicle. He drumped the body outside and secured the vehicle, hoping to someday return and repair it so that he might escape this horrible place. Less than a day later, he arrived as his destination, the Hindmarsh Police Station. Inside were a few survivors, a generator, and supplies he would need.

I've Arrived at Hindmarsh Police station. I left my other journal in my vehicle, but I don't think I'll be able to make it back there anytime soon. When I left zombies were beginning to surround the area. Luckily, I found this old notebook and I can keep up entries. Tonight, I sleep in Hindmarsh with other survivors.

This seems to be the place to be. I've managed to get ahold of a few pistols and shotguns, Ammuniton too. It's a good thing I did, because I hear that there seems to be a large zombie movement coming from the east that people are calling "The Dead". I hope I've got enough ammunition to defend myself.

Some refugges from Dulston passed through on their way to what the called the "Haslock Building". They said that Dulston was under attack by the zombies. Zombies are becoming more and more common in the area lately. I'm going to hunt some of the down tomorrow.
March 26th, 2008
I went on my first zombie hunt today. I got about 4 of the bastards. Saw even more refugees come from Dulston. They said it's almost comletely fallen to the zombies now. I'm going to leave tomorrow with the next group of Refugees for the Haslock Building. From what I hear, it's got enough people to stave off the zombies for at least a little bit.
March 27th, 2008
I followed the group that passed through today. We walked for a few hours before arriving at the Haslock Building. It's controlled by a group of survivors that call themselves "THEM". They say that they are in charge of the defenses of the area and won't let it fall to zombie control. I'm not sure if i Believe them, but were running out of places to go with zombies converging from all sides. I'm going to take down as many of them that are nearby as I can tomorrow. Hopefully, we can hold them off...

I heard that someone matching the description of someone I know arrived in the Clare General Hospital. I think I'll go over there later today and see for myself...
- Amazing. I knew him from before I enlisted. He's a firefighter. Were staying in the Clare General Hospital for a few days.
March 29th, 2008
We found a Zombie Spy in the Clare Hospital today. It worries me how these people work to try and convert all of us to zombies. He was "dealt with" and dumped outside with the zombies he loves so much. Hopefully, there won't be many more...
March 30th, 2008
Still in the Clare General Hospital Spent most of today helping treat injuries. Theres a lack of doctors, but having military experience, I can treat most wounds and prevent infection easily. We received a radiobroadcast from Earletown hospital, they are under heavy seige and have lost a good amount of survivors. Hopefully they will hold as long as they can...
March 31st, 2008
Today a zombie broke into the hospital. He was dispatched and dumped quickly. Tomorrow, I'm moving to the OCPD to help with the southern defense. Since our forces are mostly civilians, we need as much help as we can get.

April Fools day. Too bad noone is celebrating. I made it to OCPD and we are preparing our defenses. Theres a good amount of us here, and I think we can hold it.
- The barricades were breached twice. Both times, minimal zombies came in. We did lose two people though. Also, I found a set of policemen's cloths and changed into them. It's nice to wear somthing other then the same 4 BDU's I've been wearing the past few days. I heard there was a group that plans to attack try and retake a mall. Maybe I'll find some civilian cloths if they are successful. Then again, thats if WE are successful holding off the horde at OCPD...
April 2nd, 2008
I woke up today to the sound of gunfire. Apparently whoever was on watch last night either fled or fell asleep because the zombies made it into OCPD. I fought as long as I could before I couldn't stay any longer. It was San Salvadore all over again, blood and body-parts everywhere. The screams were horrible as people who had been asleep awoke to the gunfire or even worse, to being eaten by the zombies. I don't know who dropped the ball, but we lost a lot of good people when they broke into OCPD. Most people who saw what was happening ran, others didn't wake up. I can only assume that someone must have drugged us all with the intent of turning us into zombies. I've fled to Haslock, where we plan to make our final stand. I haven't seen my friend in about 2 days, and after OCPD, I'm not sure if I want to see him again...
- I heard news from way south today. Apparently, when the zombies over-ran lockette, they missed a huge group of survivors that were hiding. They've rebuild most of the suburb and have defenses ready for if the zombies return. I can only hope that if the zombies notice, they will leave Chancelwood and head there instead...
- Well, someone broke the generator. One of the Haslock leaders was broadcasting when someone broke the generator and then jumped out a window. I'm not sure why they would do such a thing, but they did. Tonight is going to be a long, dark night. I only hope the barricades hold out till morning...
April 3rd, 2008
250 plus survivors inside. I think we may have a chance... We spent today trying to fortify our positions and barricade outselves in. Only some minor exterior damage was reported...
April 4th, 2008
We are under heavy seige. The zeds broke into the building and we couldn't re-seal the door. Over 200 people are trapped inside. I managed to escape with a group. We are going to try to get more ammo and retake Haslock, but I don't think we'll be successful, either way, were determined to retake haslock, or die trying...
April 5th, 2008
well, the zeds broke in a few times and we've managed to fight them off. I got replaced on guard so I could get some sleep. I keep hearing this awful scratching and pounding though. The last few have sounded a bit louder then I would have wanted them to be. I really hope that we can (The rest of the page is smeared with a bloody handprint)
April 9th, 2008
I woke up today startled. I don't know how I got here. I'm with some of the members of Haslock, but my cloths are all stained. I've been told that I was a zombie, but got revivified. I'm glad they were able to save me. Almost the entire area is in ruins. I'm joing to join up with some of these guys and we are going to try and "wait out" the zombies...
April 10th, 2008
Well, today I headed to a nearby Necrotech building with 2 other people. We have repaired most of the building and have barricaded ourselves inside. We know this will draw the zombies to us, but hopefully, we'll be able to take whatever they can throw at us.
April 11th, 2008
We held the building overnight. More people are coming. Were going to use it as a staging area to retake a nearby mall...
April 12th, 2008
We did it! We retook the mall. Everyone is celebrating and we are stocking up on our much needed supplies. It looks like we might be able to retake haslock after all.
April 13th, 2008
The mall was attacked by the Zeds. Were going to hold it as long as possible, then retreat and head toward haslock. Hopefully we'll make it...
April 14th, 2008
We made it to haslock. I was surprised to see some of the buildings rebuilt. I'm going to be staying at OCPD to help with it's defense.
April 15th, 2008
Someone has been sabotaging the generator. I'm pretty sure I know who it is, so I'll bide my time and wait...
April 16th, 2008
I got him. He was sabotaging the generator and I snuck up on him. He saw me and opened fire, but I was the better shot. We dumped him outside, knowing that our generator is safe. I was invited to Join the Group that defends haslock, and decided that It's the best thing I can do.
April 17th, 2008 through April 20th, 2008
For the past few days I've been in OCPD stocking up on weapons and holding the barricades. Zombies have been breaking in, but nothing serious. We can usually take care of them quickly.
April 21st, 2008
Break-ins are more frequent. It's getting harder to manage keeping the zombies out and getting ammunition. I'm nearly empty...
