Background
Jarrod Matthew had worked with NecroTech for quite some time, first as a simple technician repairing broken equipment when needed but when noticed by one of the lead researchers he began training as a Lab Assistant. After some time he and the rest of his division were shipped off to some offices located outside of a mysterious walled city where they'd get some samples to study from every now and then. After some time, the samples stop coming, the strides of progress was slowing abruptly down, it was decided that they were to be escorted into the city with some military personnel by way of helicopter for one week. The expedition was supposed to be a simple one: go in, get the samples needed, get out. Of course nothing every seems to go right in the city of Malton, and sure enough as they landed in what seemed to be an empty street, every single NercoTech employee and military personnel lives quickly turned into a nightmare. Zombies poured into the deserted street in quick succession, everyone was firing their individual guns toward the horde, however that proved meaningless. Soon the helicopter was being boarded by the undead, and people were being pulled out to have the zombies feast on their flesh. Finally the order was addressed -- and heard (could have been shouted as most as 5 times according to later accounts by Lab Assist. Matthews) -- for the helicopter to take flight so they could get to refuge. The helicopter did take flight, and for a moment hope was present -- grief lingering in the air -- it seemed they'd gotten through the worst already. However everyone present failed to realize that one of the Lab Assistants had been bitten, was bleeding, and on the verge of dying. So when the Lab Assistant died, rose from the dead, and took a chunk of flesh out of the driver’s neck everyone plummeted to what seemed to be certain death. Of course, there are always the stories of that one special something actually surviving in this zombified wastes, so Jarrod Matthew arose from the remnants of the helicopter, and set foot to the nearest NecroTech facility he could find, trying to keep from the undead nightmares that lingered across every corner.
Journal
May 16th, 2011 We were attacked, the helicopter crashed, I'm all alone.
May 19th, 2011 (later) I found an old NT building, still operational. There were several people inside, no one expressed any emotion where I entered, to them everything was going on as usual. What had this place became? What is this place? It's Malton, or was Malton before these zombies came about. I spent sometime within the building, forced to leave when some zombies broke down the barricades, I got a few scratches and cuts but nothing major.
May 21st, 2011 My arm aches, its infected. Perfect. I need a doctor, or some supplies. Most of the hospitals are barricaded to the point where I can get in, "why?" I wonder. Why? leave people in need of help out in the streets. Typical people, they want the medical supplies to themselves, or is it because of the dreadful creatures? Either way, I can find away inside. It seems I survived the crash all for nothing, I'm going to die in this place.
May 21st, 2011 (later) It’s getting hard to walk, breathing is increasingly difficult, what do I do?
May 22nd, 2011 I found a hospital last night, sometime around midnight, empty, no barricades, doors left open. Gathered enough supplies to cure the infection and left, there was a zombie outside, the least I could do was close the doors. Sometime through the night a women came into the building I was staying and gave me some medical help before leaving. I gathered some more medical supplies from the hospital, it seems someone barricaded the place, not to the point where you couldn't enter, but it should keep the zombies out. Maybe tomorrow I can actually do what I originally came here to do, get some damned zombie samples! I've decided to make the building I'm staying at -- the Hodge Building -- my headquarters of sorts. More to come, I promise to you my prestige viewers! Wonderful, I'm going crazy already.
