Zombie attack through barricades

Who I got the basic Idea from

I made a similar suggestion that allowed players to throw stuff at targets to give some kinda use to crap items like wirecutters. People didn't like it. This is worse because an inherent part of the game is if you want the combat XP you have to RISK the combat. For survivor players, imagine that your inside a maxed out barricade but your still taking claw damage from zombies outside who are reaching through the barricade but you can't keep it from happening (you don't control the zombie's attack RNG) nor can you attack back because the barricade is in your way. So the zombies can attack with impunity without having to worry about a counter attack. I guarantee survivor-oriented players would spam that to oblivion. But the reverse is even worse for the zombie. The survivor can, for 1 AP, go out and retaliate and, if the barricade is at VS, for 1 AP retreat. The zombies still have to tear through the barricade to get to them.--Pesatyel 20:13, 8 October 2007 (BST)

Frankly, I like the idea of zombies being able to grab at you through barricades... just like they do in the movies... a hand gets through, grabs your shoulder... you have to struggle to escape, even if it isn't immediately life threatening, it's scary as fark. I think something like that would be a great idea. But, alas, it won't happen. --WanYao 07:21, 9 October 2007 (BST)
I too think the idea of zombies grabbing you through barricades is a good one, especially genréwise. However you should make it so that it's only possible through barricades that are VSB (maybe even lower - say lightly even), the zombies get the attack option "grab through barricade" (Obviously it's a wildshot, the Zeds can't see if anyone is inside the building until the RNG permits them a hit - making it so that the zombies MIGHT be wasting AP on an empty building), lower the hitchance for that specific attack and maybe make it so you need a specific skill to do it such as Tangling Grasp or Feeding Drag. This would also make a bigger use out of Scent Trail! I don't think it would be overpowered or destroy anything. It's mostly for fun: Makes the game "scarier" for the survivors and the zombies can be more in character. -- Karth  FoD 02:15, 16 October 2007 (BST)
