Marie had a house somewhere in the close proximity to Malton and trekked in every day to visit her friends and to work. After several hard months she was promoted to NecroTech work (top Secret) and moved into Judgewood to better continue her research. Taking her holidays visiting her parents just outside of Malton she returned just as the military was closing the borders and she was trapped inside.

Marie: The Early Outbreaks

Back in Judgewood she found various forms of the nicknamed 'zombifed' human state. She entered NecroTech and found that she could stop this 'form' of life with the formula she had been working on for the months before this happened unknowingly. It was then she realised- NecroTech had the power to turn people into the 'undead'. Disgusted she set herself up to attempt to cure these 'undead people' and help them till proper help arrived.

Marie: Later Developments

A while after the first outbreaks she found some of these 'zombies' had changed/ deluded by weeks of being unstoppable and indestructable their minds rejected her formulas, determined to eat the brains of the people they had once been part of. Replused by their standards of cannibalism she looked for weapons to guard herself from the ranging hordes. Thankfully a group of people also caught in the turmoil looked out for her and in return she looked out her them. The Grove.

Marie: Further Developments

Months into the outbreak she found her work getting harder. The 'zombies' had evolved. the human race had evolved. Regretting returning back to Malton she battled on against the hordes, finding her friends, looking for the ones who wanted to live. Life was tough. malton was no heaven and human greed was ruling Malton and only survivors banding together could stop it.
