Brian Peppards (August 14th, 1855 - October 31st, 1912) was an American author and playwright, who lived in Malton for the latter part of his career. He is best known for his legendary literary works "My Experiences Being Eaten by Bears" and "Mustard", and for being an extremely short, ugly, angry, solitary, drunken pervert, who showed up at many of Malton's social events uninvited. The Malton suburb of Peppardville is named for him.

The Dalley Library is dedicated to his memory, and was his final resting place, where he was embalmed and encased in glass for all to see. Peppards' body went missing during the outbreak, leading some to believe that he is now among the undead.
