Jerry Feenin was the son of one of the various scientists working at NecroTech. Through his father, he learned of the zombie threat. He would sneak into the labs and study the zeds, intent on finding the cause of the zombification. He spend most time with his nose in the books, and regrettably never learned to fire a gun very well.
When the outbreak happened, he was ill-prepared. His father, supposedly contaminated, was made to stay at a NecroTech lab while the other employees were evacuated. Jerry made his way through the panicked streets to the lab in attempt to save his father, but was too late. He made his way to the basement of the lab, only to find his father being devoured by his former employees.
Jerry ran out to the street in shock. He stood there as people ran by him, unaware of the horde of zombies coming his way. A man in a trenchcoat ran by him, and then did a double-take, noticing that Jerry was living, but fazed in some way. He picked him up and ran down an alley.
Jerry found himself in a safehouse kept by two men. The one who had saved him seemed in his young twenties, and the other was a slightly overweight middle-aged man. They told him their names were Drak and Kin, respectively. Jerry saw that they each had an insignia stitched to their jackets and designations there. Drak, Red3, and Kin, Red7. They gave Jerry the nickname Jerbaka, without any explanation. Jerbaka dyed his hair purple and dressed in purple and black to match his freinds' attires.
Eventually they went their seperate ways. Red3, incontent with staying there, went off to see what he could do to help the citizens of Malten. Red7 told them that he would stay near the safehouse incase any of them ever needed to go back there. Jerbaka, too incontent with his inaction, decided to go off in an attempt to find a way to stop the virus.
Jerbaka wandered around the city for a while gathering DNA from the zombies he came across before he ended up in the suburb of Ruddlebank. It was there that he met survivors from the epidemic at Raccoon City. He had read the reports of the zombie outbreak there at the NecroTech lab, and was surprised to see survivors of it here in Malton. Jerbaka found them good company and joined up with the Raccoon City Survivors hoping that within a group, he would be able to help the city more effectively.
