MalTel?
The RP idea behind MalTel is fantastic, the problem is that nobody uses the masts... There are SatPhones, forums and wiki's, which are all quite a lot handier than the mast system (since, you know, zed can't break them down). Any idea how to expand on the mission of your group, without overburdening the existing techs? (also, how many MalTel techs are there these days?) PB&J 22:47, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
- They do provide one vital thing, that is a lovely statistic. The number of powered phone masts is always an excellent indicator of survivor strength in Malton on a given day. --Ross Less Ness Enter Stranger... 22:51, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
- It is? How interesting, I never would have guessed? Is that significance historically grown or is there a certain logic behind it? PB&J 22:52, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
- Just the logic. Safe suburbs always have powered phone masts, ruined suburbs do not. --Ross Less Ness Enter Stranger... 22:59, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
- I replied to your message on the thread at brainstock johnny, but i'll leave one here for good measure. If a tech has his masts under control and operational then he's free to do as he pleases to help the survivor cause of the area. Be that scouting, maintaining barricades, FAKing, or fighting. It's a very open group as far as what to do from there. I remember reading a bit on the MalTel pages talk archive, about going into actively maintaining radio coverage in key areas, so that's a possibility. As for how many tech there are, as far as i know there's only a few of us. I haven't heard any talk on the group frequency and i've sent several calls out. I have a few non-idled members in my contacts but they're impossible to get a hold of as of now, so i'm essentially trying to raise the group from the dead.Benaldo138 17:04, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

Also I've branched MalTel into the Radio/Power maintenance areas as well lately. So we're really more of a utilities provider lol --Benaldo138 (talk) 06:10, 2 May 2017 (UTC)
