Welcome to the wiki
Welcome to the Urban Dead wiki site. If you have any hiccups getting going, our help section should be of some use; or if you need anything in particular, feel free to ask me on my talk page. You might also be interested in the Suggestions section if you're keen on sharing your ideas; and it's a good idea to keep an eye on the admin pages in case you find yourself needing any of the admin services such as deletions or page moves. 21:10, 11 August 2010 (BST)
Pages
When creating new pages about yourself, or that relate to yourself, such as User:Naozi create them in your own userspace. A sysop will User:Naozi to User:Fawkes/Naozi now.--Thadeous Oakley 00:09, 13 August 2010 (BST)
...what? Fawkes 00:10, 13 August 2010 (BST)
- One of the great things about the wiki is that every user can have his or her own user page! These pages are located in the User: namespace — in other words, they all begin with "User:" (yours is User:Fawkes). The appropriate place to write about yourself or your characters is on your user page, or a subpage of that page (e.g., User:Fawkes/Your Character's Name).
- Do you understand now? There is mainspace and userspace. Mainspace is pretty much the entire wiki. Userspace are all of the users of the wiki. You are User:Fawkes. Any character pages you make such as Naozi should be in your userspace, not the mainspace. When creating a subpage like Naozi, it should be User:Fawkes/Naozi. Is it clear? Only trying to help. --Thadeous Oakley 00:16, 13 August 2010 (BST)
Naozi is not me. He's a different person.
...I'm not supposed to touch other people's user pages, am I? Fawkes 00:19, 13 August 2010 (BST)
In any case, I removed my edit. Fawkes 00:20, 13 August 2010 (BST)
- Whoops, I thought you created that page. But yeah, never edit other userpages. That can lead to vandal warnings, but since this is just a mistake, there is no need to worry now it's been cleared up.--Thadeous Oakley 00:23, 13 August 2010 (BST)
Thanks. Sorry about that. Won't happen again. Fawkes 00:24, 13 August 2010 (BST)
- It's fine, really. Also, when replying to others, such as myself, learn to indent. When you want to reply to someone put the ":" symbol in front of your sentence. With every reoccurring reply put an extra ":". Now if you want to reply to me, do this ":: your reply "--Thadeous Oakley 00:30, 13 August 2010 (BST)
