Recruitment ad
Hey there. I noticed you were trying to add a recruitment ad, but it looked like you may have run into some trouble. Your ad was removed for the moment, since it was breaking part of the page, but I'd like to walk you through what you'll need to do to add it back in.
Step 1: Go to Malton Spies/Recruit (click that red link).
Step 2: Paste the following code there:
We are the Malton Spies we shall be the spies of Malton. Why join any other group when you can join ours our group allows you to join any group you want and if you can't decide we will help you all you have to do is click on this link. There is also the strike force which acts on what the spies learn and remember we want you!! ~~~~ <noinclude> </noinclude>
Then save the page once you've pasted it there. The Malton Spies/Recruit page will be where your actual advertisement exists, so you should make any edits to that page if you wish to modify how your ad looks or what it says. Additionally, that ~~~~
will become your signature with a timestamp, that way others know when you posted your ad (this is important, because old ads or ads missing timestamps automatically get removed).
Step 3: Go to the Recruitment page (just click that link) and click the edit link at the top of the H-O section. Once in there, paste the following code after the stuff for the Malton Department of Defense but before the Malton Urban Militia stuff.
===Malton Spies : Spy Group=== {| | |}
Then save the page. You should see the stuff you saved in Step 2 show up on the Recruitment page.
Step 4: Go back to Malton Spies/Recruit before two months are up and replace your signature and timestamp with a fresh copy by replacing them with ~~~~
. You need to do this periodically, or else your ad will be removed because it is too old. If your ad does get removed, simply repeat step 3.
Optional Step 5: You really should also go to Malton Spies and put something there. That page is your group's page, so you should put anything there that you'd like people to know when they go looking for info on your group (e.g. how big your group is, a link to your forums, what you're about, etc.). The Reddit survivors have a good example of what a basic group page might look like, but most basic group pages include Groupbox at a minimum (you can see that the Reddit survivors used it, for instance), so you may want to click that link and look into how to use it on Malton Spies. Of course, you can also try going fancier. If you want some inspiration for that, you could follow the links to other groups that have posted recruitment ads. Some of them have gone all-out fancy (e.g. some of the ones I've worked on: MOB, BB3, SoC...not that I'm braggi...ok, I'm bragging :P), but most of the time, people looking for groups just want some quick facts and information, rather than getting swept up in flashy graphics, so you'll be fine with something straightforward.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. :) —Aichon— 16:33, 10 December 2012 (UTC)

if I can ask you for one more thing
Can you please tell me how to add pictures —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Fireboy97 (talk • contribs) at an unknown time.
- If the picture is already somewhere on the wiki, all you need to do is

. For instance,
produces when you actually use it. You can also change the size of an image pretty easily. For instance,
(that's the straight vertical line symbol that's above the Enter key, followed by the size you want) will produce , with the|15px
telling the wiki to scale the image down until it's 15 pixels wide.
- If your picture is not yet on the wiki, then you'll first need to upload it. To upload a picture, you need to click the "Upload file" link in the "toolbox" portion of the sidebar on the left (or you can click the link I just gave). From there, click "Choose file" and select the file on your computer that you want to use, then give it whatever name you want for the "Destination filename" (e.g. whatever.jpg). From there, click "Upload file", and after that just follow the example I gave in the last paragraph and you should be able to use the image you just uploaded. —Aichon— 21:49, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
