Reporter Man
I'm former military turned-journalist. I came to Malton to get some perspective on this whole thing, and to bring out the story. I am neutral to parties and politics. I'm interested in both sides of the story, survivors AND zombies.
On my jacket is a note which reads: Free Press, please revive. I'm here to get the story.
Please note - you can edit this document to make it say that pig's can fly, but pillaging my work will get you nothing good. If you want your story told - even if just to give a rebuttal to what someone has said about you or your organization - simply get an interview and get your side out. I am impartial, and this is an impartial forum for the voices of Malton. Thank you for respecting that.
During my early travels in Malton, I happened across "Cornholioo," the leader of the National Socialist Union. I decided to solicit him for an interview, so as to capture the story of someone who has had an impact upon the Malton community. Below is that interview, as reported in his own words:
Reporter Man: First off, what drew you to Malton originally? This is, of course, a tough town. I did not find exact background information as to your entry date, but am assuming you were not part of the first outbreak (2005-2006). Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Cornholioo: Wanderlust. Before the end of 2009 I had never heard of Malton. When I did hear about Malton, I went there to explore the city - crowded with zombies - and to aid the survivor cause. I didn't go to Malton to set up a national socialist group.
R.P.: Is it safe to assume your name came from Beavis and Butthead? Are you a fan?
C: No, actually I'm a fan of Duke Nukem. In Duke Nukem 3D (singleplayer) there was a cheatcode that gave you godly powers. That cheatcode was 'cornholio'. The 3rd o I added myself.
R.P.: According to your profile page, you have two or three alter-egos. It appears that at least one was involved in the second Battle of Krinks. What is your opinion on the practice of "zerging" and the general populace's support of anti-zerging policies?
C: Myself or the National Socialist Union do not support zerging.
During the time of the Second Battle of Krinks I had three alts in the same group. A fourth alt was used for PKing and didn't operate with the National Socialist Union. 2 of this alts (cornholioo and batavian warrior) have attacked Krinks during the Second Battle of Krinks. In reaction to this I have been reported on major zerg lists. I have been found not guilty of zerging, though. My alts were in the same group and attacked the same target, but the time in between of the two attacks was about 48 hours. Thus I was not guilty of zerging.
R.P.: Speaking of Krinks, could you describe, from your own perspective, what that first battle was like? We have varying accounts of the overall conflict, but getting your own first-hand account would be invaluable. What do you remember?
C: The First Battle of Krinks was a conflict the NSU was not looking for. The National Socialist Union has never been looking for violence when not nessecary. We have pointed out that our only enemies were zombies, PKs and GKs. We have always been willing to ally any group in achieving their goals.
As a young group, we wanted to safeguard both power stations. After having worked in Tolman for some time, I started working together with the Army Control Corps to gain some more experience. Then, late February I received this message a few messages over the 27.18 MHz frequency. The last one was crucial. It said: "if any member of the NSU enters Krinks they well be shot". 27.18 MHz was the channel of LURCS. It was the WWSIS who had the leadership over LURCS. Diplomacy with the WWSIS has solved nothing. They have said that 'our present animosity is purely ideological' and that 'it can not be solved in any way'.
After that I directed the National Socialist Union onto the Krinks. The time after several other groups - mainly communist or anarchist - joined the side of the WWSIS, until they had assembled a horde claimed over 80 men strong. This severly outnumbered us. In reaction we started to use guerilla tactics. We killed 5 of them and lost no one. Life as a guerrilla was not very pleasant. Constantly we were on the move, never staying very long on the same place. Sometimes we used dark or ruined buildings for shelter. Though, this was only the smallest price we could pay to achieve victory.
At some point the Philosophe Knights got involved in the conflict. They killed another 8 or 9 members of the coalition and one of the National Socialist Union and suffered at least 2 dead themselves.
After they drove the coalition off Krinks the NSU considered the battle as over. We gained the momentum, but decided not to use it. The coalition, and maybe the Knights, would come back. To avoid a second battle, we relocated.
R.P.: What drew you to found the National Socialist Union? Now, I make no judgment calls on the association of the connected stance of the National Socialists and fascism, so please feel free to explain in your own words.
C: When I found out there were a few political groups in Malton, but there wasn't any serious national socialist group, I decided it would be a good idea to found a group for national socialists, aimed to ensure survival of national socialism and defend some buildings. We knew of the Nazi Party of Malton, but this group calls themselves 'Nazi' for fun, it's not really a national socialist group. For myself, I'm also a national socialist in the real world and this I try to reflect on the National Socialist Union. The National Socialist Union group is really a national socialist group, the Nazi Party of Malton is not. After a while we experienced huge resistance from other groups and thus found it impossible to defend buildings without constantly being attacked by those groups. For now we are a safe haven for national socialists around Malton.
R.P.: Have you spent much time as a zombie? Do you prefer being a survivor? If so, why? What is your personal stance on zombies?
C: The NSU is not yet able to provide revivication. We do provide healing. So yes, we've spend some time as a zombie. But since we are a pro-survivor group, we still prefer being survivors. We've tried to keep buildings clear of zombies, but since were under constant attack by other groups, this is not our focus. For the moment at least.
R.P.: What is your own perspective on groups such as WWSIS, CPM and FUACK? According to the profile page on the first Battle of Krinks, the NSU offered these groups a peace offering after the first battle. This failed to bring about a satisfactory resolution, and led to the second battle of Krinks, if my information is correct. Did you participate directly in the second battle of Krinks? What was your role in the overall conflict?
C: In both battles, I've fought in the first line, to say it like that. During the First Battle of Krinks we have indeed offered peace several times to our enemies. They always rejected. I see them as violent groups, looking for conflict. The casus belli of the second battle were constant provocations over LURCS radio. A notable provocation was the Topleaf Incident. The Second Battle of Krinks was aimed to shut down LURCS radio. We've done our work well. The outcome of this battle was reduced activity of LURCS radio, and even today LURCS is less active than before.
R.P.: What are you doing right now in Malton? I'm not looking for any sensitive info about upcoming operations, just wondering what you are up to in a general way.
C: We're fighting the leftist groups. At the moment we're active in Dakerstown.
R.P.: Do you have anything that you'd like to say, any thoughts you'd like to share?
C: Just that the NSU is not the violent group the leftists say us to be. At our founding we were hostile to none pro-survivor groups. Any group we're hostile to at the moment has declared war on us. We haven't declared war on any other pro-survivor groups and have never attacked random people. We're also willing to ally any pro survivor group in achieving our goals.
R.P.: A little off topic: according to your profile page, you also run a character named “vuilnisman,” a self-reported “PK-er.” If possible, I would love to get a brief detail on his side of the story as well. Why PK-ing? Why did he single out the particular Malton survivors listed on the profile page to kill?
C: Vuilnisman's story is still to be revealed. He once broadcasted on the radio that he was taking revenge. ;)

Thanks to Cornholioo for making himself available for this interview, and for his candid answers. It has been a pleasure.
Overall, Cornholioo's interview was polite and informative. I am thankful to have heard his side on the matter, and would be quite interested in hearing the story from a different point of view. If someone from LURCS, or one of the other organizations mentioned would like to act as an official spokesman and submit to an interview, I am available.
As of May 6th, I am in the suburb of Shuttlebank, near Alpin Towers. If you would like to meet me in-game, simply come find me (Reporter Man) and ask for an interview. I will provide you with an email address, and we can begin correspondence. All points of view, whether survivor, zombie, PK-er, GK-er, RK-er, etc... are respected.
I am also interested in hearing from an official spokesman from Shadow Company. Your take on Malton is rather unique, and I would like to hear more.
Furthermore, I am seeking stories from some of Malton's founding members. If you were around during the first outbreak (2005-2006), and have been active in Malton for these five years, I would like to hear what you've seen. I'm not here to judge anyone's background, but simply to report the story as I hear it, for the benefit of the curious and for good of Malton. The world needs to know.
(Please excuse the simplicity of this page, I am still new to this wiki and will get it fixed up and looking presentable when time allows)
