A heartfelt hello
Hello there Robbie, The Heart here! I greatly enjoyed reading that diary of yours, 'twas a lovely read! I was going to come over and greet you but I do believe we're on opposite ends of the map; you're much closer to my survivor alt as of present. Oh well, I'm sure our paths will cross soon enough! --Bartha 21:32, 1 August 2010 (BST)
- You have two very interesting characters. Nice to hear from you. I do my best to try to keep this page updated and interesting. We will have to hang out in game when you get to town. Maybe a drink at the Younghusband Arms would be in order. I am curious, what brought you over to my page?--Robbie McGregor 12:34, 6 August 2010 (BST)
Greetings from the Richmond Hills Regulars
Hey there, Robbie. I hear through the grapevine that the MFD is in fact settling in Richmond Hills at Wood Grove Fire Station. As a long time resident and former MFD Officer myself, I'd like to officially welcome you and yours to the area. ЯHR and I'm sure the other locals and groups will benefit from working with you and the rest of your organization to help maintain our chosen suburb.
I must admit I am a bit curious as to why you deleted the description I wrote up for the old firestation, changed the picture, and made reference there to the UBP instead of the local Richmond Hills Barricade Plan. You then go on to conflict against your own statement -and- the UBP on said cade plan's discussion page by saying the Firestation should now be EHB instead of VSB. If you want it EHB because you're now going to use it as the "primary base of operations for the MFD", that's fine...but it's the only firestation Rich Hills has and that's not real welcoming to new firefighters trying to come in off the street. But hey...new members for you isn't exactly my business anymore. Just want you to be aware in the meantime that folks that live here are used to things being a certain way around the neighborhood in case you meet with some resistance. The cade plan for Rich Hills hasn't been UBP compliant since it was created and its worked out just fine for us locals as it stands for a good long time. I'd be happy to start up discussion on seeing it modified if there was enough interest in doing so. If you'd care to respond, you can usually reach me at home (in game) at The Splain Arms or via my or ЯHR's discussion pages. Regardless, once again, welcome to the neighborhood. Stop in for a drink anytime! --Griff 10:13, 18 August 2011 (BST)
- Thanks for the welcome Grifflik. It is good to be among friends. Since, I was making the firestation my home basically, I thought I would modify the location. That is all. We decided to make it EHB as we are using as a base of operations and it is a safe house as well. I will fix the UBP compliant issue. I would be more than happy to run any changes by you. It is always a good thing to discuss plans and come to an agreement. And, I will take you up on the offer and stop by for a drink soon. Keep the lines of communication open. Talk to you later.--Robbie McGregor 09:21, 19 August 2011 (BST)
- You're very welcome - and heck, "Griff" is just fine! A little sticking point however is the history for Wood Grove. I've been working on location descriptions and history for Richmond Hills for a long time, and most of the work done here has been mine. I really like the new picture. Would it be agreeable to at least restore the past history description of the Station? I'd be happy to drop the bit about the damage to the station post quarantine and add the current usage for the building. Perhaps the following?
- "Located in central Richmond Hills, the stone and brick edifice of the old Wood Grove station is the product of an older, more prosperous time. Named after the peaceful foliage of nearby Enwright Park and once an important feature of the suburb, the station found itself on the brink of closing its doors just prior to the Outbreak and Quarantine. A declining local population and subsequent cutbacks in funding had placed it in a precarious position with a reduced staff and out of date equipment. The proliferation of better appointed fire stations in the neighboring suburbs Eastonwood and Havercroft had all but rendered the Wood Grove station obsolete. Today, however, the firehouse has discovered a renewed sense of purpose. Wood Grove Fire Station is now not only the Malton Fire Department headquarters for Richmond Hills, but it is the primary base of operations for the MFD as a whole."
- Looking forward to continued discussion, bud.--Griff 03:12, 20 August 2011 (BST)
- Sounds good to me and that is an awesome description. It is done. I look forward to continuing the conversation with you as well. I still need to drop by the Splain Arms and have a drink as well. Talk to you later.--Robbie McGregor 01:46, 25 August 2011 (BST)
