Welcome
Hi. Noticed that you are new to this wiki and seem to have trouble with setting up your userpage. The link you want to use is probably this one. If you need any other help, let me know. -- Spiderzed▋ 16:05, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- You still seem to have trouble, so that I've directly set up the profile link for you. Any other stuff you want to do with your page that could use some help? -- Spiderzed▋ 16:08, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
thanks! and yes I wanted to know how to set up a template for my profile on urbandead --sinner093177 8:22 1 February 2011 (PST)
- For templates, you simply use double curly brackets and drop the Template: namespace. E.g., Template:DramaLlamaSmall gets entered as {{DramaLlamaSmall}}, resulting in this:
Drama Llama | |
The Llama is watching you. |
- What broke the template earlier for you was probably capitalization - the Small in DramaLamaSmall is upper case. -- Spiderzed▋ 16:40, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- Please don't create duplicates of existing templates. It's much easier to just use the correct name with the correct capitalization, and it doesn't clog up the wiki with unneeded dupes. -- Spiderzed▋ 17:00, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
oh ok thanks I was just seeing if I got it right. can someone tell me how to update building status? I didn't really get it --sinner093177 9:12(PST) 1 February 2011
- Go to the building page where the status report is. Let's pick The Colglough Building as an example. Go to the danger report and click on "update" (which takes you in this case to User:DangerReport/The_Colglough_Building). Edit this page in DangerReport's user space.
- Put the status keyword in "|status=" (e.g. "in zombie hands"), using the appropriate keyword as explained here. Precision is important - the spelling has to be 100% identical, including the capitalization.
- Then, enter your comment in "|comment=" and your signature in "|user=", just as you do on talk page comments.
- If you are new to danger reports, it pays to use preview - they require precision in filling out, so that newb mistakes are easily made. -- Spiderzed▋ 18:18, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
