Every group has a history. A beginning and an end. Our story began with a rebirth from the ashes, but our history goes back even before our birth.

So, you're interested in joining us on our mission to protect the Northwest of Malton?

In 2005, two groups, the [[Crossman Defense Force]] (CDF) and the [[Liberation of Crossman Department]] (LCD), were created to protect [[Crossman Grove Police Department]] in [[Darvall Heights]]. Their story began when a zombie group invaded Darvall Heights, which ultimately resulted in the uniting of the neighborhood. The two groups emerged as powers to be reckoned with in the aftermath of the battle, and the undead were pushed back for a time.

Excellent.

The LCD and CDF each had a long history, with all the makings of a great story: friendship, brotherhood, hate, heated arguments, fighting side by side and back to back. For a time it seemed that both groups loved Darvall Heights too much, and each developed their unique vision for the suburb, which inevitably led to friction between the groups. In the end, however, the love for their home reunited them once again, and after a final battle near the end of 2008, where the two groups set aside their differences to stave off a horde of invading zombies, it all ended. Both the LCD and the CDF broke apart and faded into memory, becoming historical groups.

But before you apply, we'd like to make sure you understand exactly what it is that you're getting into, so here's some basic information about the Soldiers of Crossman (SoC) and what we stand for. If you're not sure you're a good fit for our group, or that we're a good fit for you, this is the place to start. You may have seen some of this information already, but please give it a read-through once again.

The story does not end there, however. After traveling for some time and continuing to experience a sense of restlessness, Cortonna, the LCD's former leader, spoke to Zod Rhombus, the CDF's leader, in the hopes of establishing a new group made up of their remaining former troops. Zod agreed, and the two established the new group. Thus, the Soldiers of Crossman was born, inviting all ex-LCD and ex-CDF soldiers to join together so that they can continue the good fight.

Since then, the Soldiers of Crossman has had its highs and its lows. Growing at one time to encompass over 50 members, the Soldiers have now taken to preserving a solid core of quality soldiers instead of maintaining the large quantity of soldiers it once had. The mission is still the same however: to unite the Northwest in the name of the good fight.

Soldiers of Crossman - Recruitment.
Soldiers of Crossman
Soldiers of Crossman

So, you're interested in joining us on our mission to protect the Northwest of Malton?

Excellent.

What we are like

When we're working, we like to work hard, but if you're looking for a hardcore group with a multitude of coordinated strike teams and rigid activity requirements, that's not us. Our members can come and go as they please (and they do), but we almost always have a big mission or two available for them to join whenever they're around. We also have different ways to be involved in those missions, whether it be as a casual soldier in the Vanguard (our main body) or a specialist in one of our squads. In between missions, we like to kick back at Crossman PD, pull out a few of our favorite tunes, and crack open a case or two of our favorite drinks.

What's expected of you

The Soldiers of Crossman holds its members to a higher standard. To quickly run through a few basic expectations:

 1. Be active. While real life is always more important than a game, we still expect you to be active, both in the game and on the forum. Check each on a daily basis when you can. It only takes a few minutes.

 2. Be smart. We're not looking to churn out trenchcoat-toting, machine gun-laden killing machines. We want smart soldiers who can follow orders and can spend their AP wisely. Coordinated efforts break down when members fail to use their resources efficiently.

 3. No zerging. Kevan gave us a big game with only one real rule. If you have an alt, they cannot be in SoC, they cannot follow SoC, they cannot work with or for SoC, they cannot support SoC, and they cannot share information with SoC. Keep them away.

 4. Be civil. Members of the SoC act as its representatives in the game. We expect our members to act with civility towards both our allies and our enemies, and to always remember that there is a person behind each character in the game.

 5. Don't PK. We'll tell you who to PK and when it's okay. As a general rule, it's not okay. Don't do it.

How to join

We do most of our work on our forum, so we have more detailed information available on it. For now, you should do the following:

 1. Read through the information on this page.
 2. Create an account on our forum.
 3. Follow the instructions we have posted on the forum.

It's just that simple.
