Hey, it's funny you mentioned that Name with the ud added to it, that was created completely accidently while attempting to access my older page without that after the end, and now I have no idea how to get rid of it. --{{User:Alastair Mortalis}} 06:35, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

My talk page. Duh. What did you think?
--Thanatologist

Notice: Please put new topics/questions/etc. at the bottom using the second-level header. Use ==[topic/question/whatever]==. Or simply use the tab with a plus sign on top of the page (if there is one). I'll usually bring the discussion to your talk, but I may reply here on occasion.

Aside from that, feel free to indulge yourselves. I love a good talk.

What people have said to me:

Hi, unfortunately UNLEASH THE FURY! was deleted because it was practically just a copy of your Caps Lock template, and didn't seem to serve any purpose. Just giving you a heads up. If you think this is done in error or you were gonna expand the page, just hit me back up and we can discuss it. -- LEMON #1 10:48, 27 October 2010 (BST)

Sorry, maybe i should wait until it actually becomes popular enough before I do something like that... thanks for the heads up anyway! (although calling it a 'dumb crit 1' is not really pleasant. i checked the speedy deletions page. sorry, but i'm a new user) -- †  talk ? f.u.

I came across this a few weeks ago... What is {{switch|CURRENTYEARc2010 supposed to do? -- †  talk ? f.u. 06:06, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

It was a broken switch template. I've fixed it now. To see what I've done, see the dif for the page. The Kevanists believe the universe was created when Kevan created Urband Dead in 2005. The switch template is used so that the number of years will automatically update according to the {{CURRENTYEAR}}. ~Vsig.png 06:34, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
Postscript: SCREW YOU VAPOR, HE POSTED ON MY TALK PAGE, I'LL REPLY! YOU SHOULD HAVE KNOWN YOU'D EDIT CONFLICT ME! ALSO I LOVE YOU, LETS BE BEST FRIENDS FOREVER!
[For the non-vapor readers, note that the following was written while unaware that Vapor was replying.]
Lucky for you, I actually know this.
Template:Switch is used for turning a preset phrase into another preset phrase. For example, I could set it up so that it would turn the word 'cake' into the word 'lie', like so:
 {{Switch
 |Cake
 |case: Cake=Lie
 }}
Used alone, it's completely pointless, since you could just write what you want to say. But it can be used with other templates for some unique stuff. A common example, and the one use here, is a time template. When you use one of them, it displays as the variable in it's name. For example, {{CURRENTDAYNAME}} would tell you that it was Thursday when the reader loaded the page. This is when switch becomes useful:
 {{Switch
 |{{CURRENTDAYNAME}}
 |case: Monday=I'm sad.
 |case: Saturday=I'm happy.
 |default: I'm indifferent.
 }}
With that code, you could show an estimate of your mood based on the day of the week. There are many other uses that draw from templates other than just the current time, such as danger reports.
But more to the point, they were trying to make a sort of stopwatch-style counter; they wanted the text to say how many years since, not when it was formed, but never have to be updated. They seem to have either forgotten or given up in the middle of it, so I set it up to run until 2019. --VVV RPMBG 06:57, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
