What people have said to me:

Hi, unfortunately UNLEASH THE FURY! was deleted because it was practically just a copy of your Caps Lock template, and didn't seem to serve any purpose. Just giving you a heads up. If you think this is done in error or you were gonna expand the page, just hit me back up and we can discuss it. -- LEMON #1 10:48, 27 October 2010 (BST)

Sorry, maybe i should wait until it actually becomes popular enough before I do something like that... thanks for the heads up anyway! (although calling it a 'dumb crit 1' is not really pleasant. i checked the speedy deletions page. sorry, but i'm a new user) -- †  talk ? f.u. 11:40, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

I came across this a few weeks ago... What is {{switch|CURRENTYEARc2010 supposed to do? -- †  talk ? f.u. 06:06, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

It was a broken switch template. I've fixed it now. To see what I've done, see the dif for the page. The Kevanists believe the universe was created when Kevan created Urband Dead in 2005. The switch template is used so that the number of years will automatically update according to the {{CURRENTYEAR}}. ~Vsig.png 06:34, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
Postscript: SCREW YOU VAPOR, HE POSTED ON MY TALK PAGE, I'LL REPLY! YOU SHOULD HAVE KNOWN YOU'D EDIT CONFLICT ME! ALSO I LOVE YOU, LETS BE BEST FRIENDS FOREVER!
[For the non-vapor readers, note that the following was written while unaware that Vapor was replying.]
Lucky for you, I actually know this.
Template:Switch is used for turning a preset phrase into another preset phrase. For example, I could set it up so that it would turn the word 'cake' into the word 'lie', like so:
 {{Switch
 |Cake
 |case: Cake=Lie
 }}
Used alone, it's completely pointless, since you could just write what you want to say. But it can be used with other templates for some unique stuff. A common example, and the one use here, is a time template. When you use one of them, it displays as the variable in it's name. For example, {{CURRENTDAYNAME}} would tell you that it was Saturday when the reader loaded the page. This is when switch becomes useful:
 {{Switch
 |{{CURRENTDAYNAME}}
 |case: Monday=I'm sad.
 |case: Saturday=I'm happy.
 |default: I'm indifferent.
 }}
With that code, you could show an estimate of your mood based on the day of the week. There are many other uses that draw from templates other than just the current time, such as danger reports.
But more to the point, they were trying to make a sort of stopwatch-style counter; they wanted the text to say how many years since, not when it was formed, but never have to be updated. They seem to have either forgotten or given up in the middle of it, so I set it up to run until 2019. --VVV RPMBG 06:57, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

Alastair Mortalis

Hey thanks for mentioning that, although the ud after the name was entirely accidental and I don't know how i did it. I was originally trying to get back to my old page which you found I gather. But I have no idea how to get rid of the one with the ud after it. The one i signed this post with is the one I would like to keep. I apologize, i was rather, and still am, unfamiliar with how the wiki works as far as linking and what not. I'll learn eventually.

Greetings from CAPD

Heya dude. I found your journal of interesting events at Crew Avenue. Epic stuff with the Susan Popham/Former PKer reunion. It's refreshing to know that someone is around to record these kinds of things. See you around! --GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 10:48, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

I must say I to enjoyed your journal.--ZIPO/Talk/◆◆/CAPD 11:12, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
I have to say that I second that! see you around Crew Zt107 01:38, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
It was grand! Thanks for posting it, I kinda missed Dude left his number. Now I'll ring his bell :)
Oi, Thanatologist... consider nipping out to Tikhon General in Ruddlebank one of these days, and have a butchers. I bet there's lulz to report there too :D --Susan Popham 20:20, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

Lawliet Yraola

Nice to meet you sir...pls help me in my group and help me advertise --User:Lawliet Yraola/L 20:18, 01 March 2011 (UTC)

Heh

If we keep this up, RG (and other groups in the area) might consider O13 to be a PKer group. I can't wait to see some of these groups' reaction when O13 finally makes a switch. ;D --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 13:58, 18 March 2011 (UTC)

Desu Nōto

This is a memo to all interested parties: The Desu Nōto group page is just about complete. The only thing missing is the group's logo that would normally appear in the group box. But that's no reason why Desu Nōto should delay it's launch. A minor setback is what it is! A minor setback that won't interfere with any hunting business! So feel free to join in whenever you want to. Happy hunting to you, Than! --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 05:19, 12 August 2011 (BST)

JebJ

Hi! I blanked the talk page in question (which was just two lines) because the content was just chatter that was offensive towards women. That's also the reason I removed an offensive picture from the main page of that same building. The text that remains on that page is mildly offensive, but of the more "meh" variety that I decided to leave it.

As for the barricade level, I changed it to be in line with the Wray Heights Barricade Plan: http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Wray_Heights - Sorry if that was not okay to do. It seems strange to have two different levels of barricades being requested in two different parts of the wiki.

Also, since we're talking, is there any ongoing effort to fix the Danger Level maps? http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/User:DangerReport/DangerCenter I can't get them to display properly on either Firefox or IE, and it won't allow me to edit those pages (i.e. - they won't even come up).

Additionally, how does one go about altering the danger level for an entire suburb? I made a quick circuit of Wray Heights yesterday and saw just 7 zombies in the entire place - it hardly seems like that merits a "Red" danger level on the map. I'm in the process of completing a circuit of all of the buildings and updating their statuses, to confirm this, however.

Finally, on an unrelated note, I was checking the recent pages and came across this page - http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/User:ThomasKiriakou - which appears to be a spambot page. Is that something you can take care of?

Thanks!

JebJ (talk) 12:26, 13 November 2014 (UTC)

Hey, I'm not Thanatologist, but I figured I'd poke in here and say thanks for pointing out the spam page. I went ahead and took care of it. If you happen to run into any more, you can report them on the Vandal Banning (Bots) page and a sysop will take care of them.
Thanks for cleaning up Meany. It looks like it needed it, and your edits are definitely an improvement in my book. That said, you should be aware of the fact that there isn't a civility policy around here, so while I think that your changes are beneficial, others might not, and if there ends up being a dispute over it, we end up having to solve things via arbitration, which doesn't play favorites based on which edit is more civil.
As for updating suburb danger levels, if you go to the suburb page (e.g. Wray Heights), on the right side underneath the 3x3 grid of suburbs, you'll see text that reads Update Wray Heights's Danger Level. Click on it and then edit that page according to the instructions to update it to a different status.
And as far as the DangerCenter goes, it looks like last week's update to the wiki software broke it somehow. Editing it isn't a simple task. I'll poke around in the code and see if I can figure out what's up.
Thanks again, and welcome to UDWiki! Aichon 16:01, 13 November 2014 (UTC)
Turns out it wasn't the wiki software update after all, but rather a user with a bug on their end who accidentally modified something without realizing they had done so. Anyway, I've corrected it, so the DangerCenter should be working again now. Let me know if it isn't for some reason. Aichon 16:33, 13 November 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for addressing the spam and for fixing the DangerCenter - it works now! Do you know how to address a page where the stated barricade level of the building on the building page is different from the level stated in the Barricade Plan? JebJ (talk) 02:35, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
It looked to me like you addressed it correctly. If the two were out of sync, then it's just a case of inconsistent statements that need to be reconciled, which you've already done. My take on it is that if someone has an issue, they should make a change to the barricade plan. Aichon 08:23, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
Okay, thanks. JebJ (talk) 12:20, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
