But just before he passed into that darkness, he spied that the zombie had stopped in its tracks and was staring at him vacantly.  The zombie turned its wayward gaze to the office ceiling tiles where something drip-drip-dripped onto its face.  Slowly, as both the man and the beast watched, a design spread across the tiles as the man succumbed to being utterly spent.

Upon awakening, the man was surprised to see the remnants of some fiery catastrophe that must have consumed the zombie leaving nothing but the soles of its feet, some foul, oily stains, and gently tumbling ash.  Nothing the man could imagine could account for this miracle.  And as he struggled against the absurdity and gravity (and gasoline vapors), he heard a voice.  "Not a voice," he would often have occasion to think later, "The Voice."

He would describe it as strong, imposing, commanding, and captivating.  The Voice explained to him that she was Phlogistera, Fire Goddess.  She explained to him that she had opened him to the mysteries of the Cleansing Flame and that it was his life's destiny to be the first of her sacred Fryers--those mortal beings who are charged with exploring the mysteries of The Cleansing Flame and attempting to walk The Path of Burnination.

Never able to recall his previous life after that moment, PyroSadist was born.  And he walks Malton, spreading the news of Phlogistera's revelation and her call to the Fryers to walk The Path of Burnination so that they might know The Embrace of The Cleansing Flame.

To help me rapidly understand how zombies functioned, this character was created and then remained inactive for several years before being recently reactivated. This brainrotter chiefly roams the southern suburbs of the NE Division, systematically reducing barricaded Junkyards to VSB.

PyroSadist is a Fire Cultist who follows the teachings of Phlogistera. He looks for Fryers mostly in the SE Division, while propagating the tenets of his religion. He also attempts to maintain the infrastructure of Fryerbank whenever possible.

A blue-collar working stiff who decided to support the infrastructure of cell phone coverage in Malton and put his job skills to work. Finding Malton Telephone abandoned, he signed his name in the register and went to work in the NW-3 District repairing, refueling, and monitoring Mobile-Phone Masts.

An older gentleman with few friends, this old-world individual has committed himself to lending a hand and loosely refers to himself as a member of Malton Telephone. This gentleman sticks to the SW-1 District, where he has had the unfortunate occasion to be zombified again and again.

Originally conceived of as a death cultist, this character is rapidly gaining skills and possibly lining up to become a Bounty Hunter (as less coordination is needed to be a BHer). Given his name and the recent broadcasts heard over 27.55 MHz, he is considering potentially joining the Free Syrian Army to oppose ISYS (Islamic State of Yagoton & Shearbank) in the NW Division.
