When Strange Bank was built, it was named Barrville Savings before the outbreak. When zombies started to wander, people in this bank at that time preformed strange rituals (marks of them can be found from the vault) and barricades (who would construct a barricade of glass?) and also made the entire bank like a labyrinth - except the entrance hall. All survivors and zombies who have tried to find these labyrinth builders from the depths of this labyrinth have returned empty-handed. It's possible that labyrinth makers are either alive and hiding, wandering around their own labyrinth or simply died there.

You can also hear steps behind you when walking alone in the corridors, strange marks on the walls in the second floor changing and one zed ran out from the corridors like it had seen a ghost - or worse. The thing hasn't been found, and zombie language translaters don't understand what that terrified zombie tried to say while running out from the building.
When the aptly dubbed "Strange" Bank was first constructed in 1922, it was actually known as  Barrville Savings. The business closed down shortly after Zombies began to wander Malton's streets, and the staff quietly fled, leaving behind millions in cash and valuables abandoned inside the structure's many storage vaults. As Barrville descended into chaos and the outbreak spread across Malton, a maddened cult of unidentified Survivors took refuge inside. They seemed to have performed strange rituals, carving out cryptic messages onto the lobby's walls with their fingernails. Reports later circulated that these tormented souls, shut up in the old bank and fearful of venturing outside where the Zombie hordes hunted freely, turned to cannibalism to survive, raping and murdering other Survivors who entered their domain before consuming the corpses. For many months, many were too afraid to venture near the place, and the name 'Strange Bank' quickly stuck, like a bad omen on whispered lips.

By the time a gang of greedy Barrville residents and opportunistic black marketeers, eager to pillage Strange Bank's contents for themselves, finally summoned up enough courage to mobilize and storm the grounds, its insane caretakers had vanished. Instead, much to their shock and dismay, dozens of corridors and passageways meticulously constructed out of scavenged materials had been built upon the mazelike halls of what had once been Barrville Savings, making navigation disorienting and bordering on impossible. Intrepid Survivors who have later attempted to pursue locating the building's vaults have returned empty-handed. It has been speculated that the surprisingly difficult labyrinthe now in place was fashioned so deliberately as to conceal the latter's locations, believed to be in a sub basement underneath the ground floor.

No trace of the mysterious cult has ever been found, and as various wings have fallen into greater disrepair over the years, the chances of successfully exploring them have grown slim. In the meantime, Strange Bank continues to be the focus of chilling rumors and its haunting legacy lives on.

History

East Wing Corridor, Strange Bank.
