The Chechen experimentation facility was shut down and NecroTech 'Cleaning' Teams were sent in to erase all links between Basayev's group and NecroTech, ending the operation with the assassination of Shamil Basayev himself. Back at the central NecroTech labs, he was prepared for experimental re-education neuro-surgery, and the NecroTech surgeons cut in to his brain. They were not set up to deal with surgical recovery, so he was transferred to Malton to recover in a NecroTech sponsored hospital. An infection set in, and further neuro-surgery was required. While on the operating table, brain laid bare, news of the Malton Incident became worldwide news. He was quickly patched up in a semi-professional manner and left in a comatose state as the hospital staff fled the area. He awoke, apparently unharmed, several days later. There was nothing left of his sanity, so he left the hospital and followed the directions given by the growling voices in his head. At the Greswell Puppet Museum he donned his mask and robes, as per the directives of the Puppets enshrined there, and set out on the work, the Divine Work, that was presented to him. He befriended others of similar outlook, masked and robed and determined to illuminate the ignorant. He became one of the Philosophe Knights and began his Holy Work of 'illumination'. He carries with him a writing kit of a razor-sharp stylus and a sharpening stone, recording his diary of madness in his flesh, each new discovery, healing or kill scored in to his skin by the blood-caked stylus.
