Description
History
McEvoy Rails was the way to travel in style in the 1800s. It was part of the greater Malton, Monroeville, Hooterville, and Lemming system. Originally used for mail delivery and sometimes supplies, the train ran regularly for 50 years.
Most stations in Malton were a stop on the McEvoy system. After the buy out by Henderson Rails, McEvoy trains started carrying passengers as well as supplies. When talks of starting a subway system started, Henderson-McEvoy actively campaigned to convert the rail system instead of spending millions on building a new subway.
In the end, the subway was defeated. After struggling with internal corruption and bad investments, Henderson-McEvoy declared bankruptcy and sold off all of their stations.
By the 1980s, McEvoy Drive station had been incorporated into its current placement on the Fuchsia Line.
