Description
An elegant building which has seen better days. The interior is to die for - literally in some cases.
History
Once an elegant theatre, owned by auteur and director Frederick Fopp, Frederick's fell into disuse in the early twentieth century until it was renovated for use for 'moving pictures'. In the latter decades of its existence it was one of Malton's notable arthouse cinemas, and was highly popular with trend-setting Wykewood youth who would combine a challenging afternoon of artisanal ax-shopping with a trip to 'Freddy's' and a few pints of microbrew at The Smithfield Arms.
